Hey all.

I took a job 3 months ago handling Ad Sales for website and another business that the owner is starting. Not gonna get in to too many details on that end.

I am very proud of the product, and I know that the sheer traffic and demographic info that we are getting will be of serious value for our potential advertisers; both local and national. The price is insanely cheap for the exposure and networking that the advertiser will receive.

I didn't have an ad sales background going into this, but I am doing well so far through through cold calling my ass off and utilizing my personal network.

My question is, what have you found to be the best approach for generating ad sales leads? I'd like to bring on some bigger name advertisers rather than dinking and donking short term minimum deals. I'd like to close a few substantial deals. I've got the product to do so - I just need to share it with the right people.

Any advice or suggestions?

You find out, let me know. Ad sales is one of my weaknesses and I have an amazing product people would love to pimp their wares on.

Look at/follow other similar media outlets...see who is or what products keep coming up. Having both bought and sold media you need to find commonality.
