In the summer I don't seem to watch as much tv anyway, I guess. I'm not a soccer fan, but I've been following the World Cup. It's been entertaining.
I do hate the All Star break, though. Those are the worst three days of the sports year, to me.

Wizards\US National team soccer in the spring well into NFL\NCAA football again.

This would be a question better suited for Dane but my guess would be not for a long time because of the bureaucratic mess involved with streaming. It would probably take a big chunk out of new DVD sales.

At least in Soccer, the ball is constantly being played. There is constant action, movement and sometimes violence. Scores are actually exciting, the players show much more excitement after a score.

You know how you can tell Baseball is boring? The announcers spend more time talking about non game specific topics rather than the game itself. With Soccer, there is hardly any time for that because the ball is actually moving.

Baseball sucks ass. It's a dying sport.

Ok...so in Frazod's world a crowd of 7,000 is just as exciting of a dynamic than a crowd of 60,000+....not sure what being foreign has to do with it.....

Baseball is a tired, old, selfish sport that less and less people are caring about. It's going the way of the NHL and it's sinking fast. In Soccer, there is constant action, the ball is constantly being played, a goal can be scored during any given possesion. World Cup is exciting.

With Baseball scores are far and few between. It's really a battle between 2 guys while everyone else stands around waiting for something to happen.

There is a far greater scoring chance in every half inning of baseball. It's not even close.

How is it not realistic? Just because teams defend shots doesn't mean there wasn't a scoring opportunity. And obviously the vast majority go w/o scores...there are a hell of a lot more possessions in soccer than there is in Baseball.

And even when they do score in baseball the runs aren't nearly as dramatic. You fall asleep and by the time a run is batted in you're too disinterested to care.

You act like im making this shit up. The ratings and attendance records speak for themselves. Baseball is a dying sport because it lacks fast paced action. Today's top young athletes hardly even care about the sport. They all aspire to play Football or Basketball.

Baseball isn't dying. The players are being paid more and more and more because the sport is wildly successful.

Hell, the Rangers have sucked ass for years and people are coming out to the ballpark in droves this summer now that they're in first place.

The only reason soccer is so popular in Europe is because they have nothing else.

The average shots on goal for a team this year in the world cup is NINE per game.

NINE SHOTS. BORING.

You can score with every swing of the bat in baseball. Case closed.

The best part about this is that we were doing a read through on a script, and the Padres game was on the TV on mute in the background.

When the Padres gave up a run to the Orioles in the 9th to give the Orioles a 2-1 lead, my friend who said that gave a moan. Then the Padres scored 2 in the 9th to win 3-2 and he was hootin' and hollerin' as the Padres were celebrating. Not 15 minutes earlier he told me that baseball was the most boring sport and the players never show emotion.

LMAO Jesus, what a bunch of bullshit.

What "crowd of 7,000" are you talking about? I watch baseball games at places like Busch and Wrigley. These stadiums are packed, day or night. Cherrypick much? For every shit team that doesn't draw there are two that do. You want to talk about small crowds? You should have seen the Chicago Fire try to sell out Soldier Field. What a joke that was. They finally built some tiny stadium on the south side somewhere. Don't know where it is, don't care.

And just because you think baseball is tired and old and dying doesn't make it so. Ask the Yankmees if they're having any trouble filling their brand new billion dollar stadium.

And the foreigner thing has everything to do with soccer. I realize most of the world loves soccer. Big fucking deal. Neither you nor a bunch of liberal idiots at ABC/ESPN will convince me to care about that crap. And I don't really care how many hut-dwelling dirtbags who bathe monthly and wipe their asses with their hands crowd into some rickety stadium to watch a fucking 1-1 snorefest. There's a clear reason why most (natural-born) American's watch baseball football, basketball, golf, Auto Racing, Hockey, MMA, poker, checkers, mini golf, connect-4, 4-Square, Fishing, Snow sports, Xgames, Winter Olympics, more than they do Soccer. I had this problem as we all do and decided to make myself take up being a fan of another sport. I purposely made myself watch the Daytona 500 in 01' when Earnhardt died and watching how that entire season unfolded got me into it. Became a huge Junior fan when they went back to Daytona in July that year and he won. It was just kickass. So now I have something to pick up right when football is ending.

I can't stand soccer. I'll admit I can watch several minute intervals when the US is playing during the World Cup, but that's it.

Right now it's the Royals (yeah still at least DVR the games), NASCAR, golf-The Masters no problem but after that only on sundays if there is some drama and Tiger and Phil both have to be playing. Honestly I'm not much of a baseball fan unless it's the Royals or the WS. Have a hard time watching even the NBA Finals.

Good thing is the new seasons of Entourage and Hung start next week. Have got Deadliest Catch for another week I believe and a new show starts tonight on Discovery called "Heartland Thunder." I guess it's Deadliest Catch with dirt modified racers that are actually here in the KC area. Heard about it on 810. Will at least watch tonight to see what it's like. Never really thought I'd be a diehard fan of a show about crabfishing, but if the people on it end up being cool guys like Sig, Phil, Jonathan, Andy, and throw in a douchebag like Keith on the Wizard and it can take off like wildfire. Just trying to fill the time Mon-Thursday nights until football starts. I've got no kids, wife, or a current girlfriend. Friday and Saturday night I have a hell of a time chasing ass whether I'm successful or not. All about the chase. Friday I came up empty but saturday I was money. For me it's just more fun that being in a relationship. I can't stand the drama and I'm far too undisciplined............

I was in the "Soccer sucks" crowd for a long time too.

This is going to sound stupid, but I bought a PS3 in 2007 and bought FIFA 08. I sucked so bad at that shit that I never wanted to play it again, and a friend of mine came over and played it with me and taught me how to play the game, and eventually I could score goals on my own.

The difficulty of scoring a goal made me really happy when I did, and I imagined it was the same for real life Soccer. Around the same time Cox cable got the Fox Soccer Channel so I would watch Premier League games and La Liga games and saw players I recognized from the FIFA game, and I became a fan.

That's because it's too hot this time of year and that stadium sucks a bag of dicks.

Haha, the Ballpark is awesome. You're nuts. As evidenced by the crowds they have drawn.

It's OK I just wanted to give Claythan shit. I prefer going in early april or late september or whenever the Royals are in town. It's just too hot in that stadium in mid summer. Best to go in September when the one franchise playoff win Rangers have completed their late season fade and the crowds are thinner.

The average shots on goal for a team this year in the world cup is NINE per game.

NINE SHOTS. BORING.

That's why I laugh every time someone compares hockey to soccer. Each team averages that per 15 minute period, so you end up seeing 60+ shots in 45 minutes as opposed to 18 shots in 90 minutes. Plus the Stanley Cup Finals scores were 6-5, 2-1, 4-3, 5-3, 7-4, 4-3.... yeah, not 1-0, 1-0, 1-0, 1-0, 2-1, 1-0.

I'll watch just about any sport... football, basketball, hockey, lacrosse, baseball, tennis... but, I can't get into soccer. I laugh when I see headlines like "Mexico rips France" and see that it was a 2-0 final after being scoreless for 65 minutes... and that Mexico outshot France on goal, uh, 5-4. LMAO

I usually go into a sports depression after NFL; I don't like basketball, or baseball.
I'll watch the occasional golf, but mostly get by with watching world superbike and AMA /Moto GP racing.

I'll be ready for football season for sure.

My friends and I got into soccer the same exact way. We were playing...learning the intricacies of the game and the teams and players. This was around '01 or '02

I would say Nascar but going to a Nascar even and seeing it live is fuckin awesome. Completely different story though when watching on TV. Same w/ Hockey. Love going to Blues games when I get the chance, but watching hockey on TV sucks IMO. A lot of people say this about baseball. Soccer is fuckin retarded regardless if you watch it live or on TV. If someone offered me free tickets and hotel/airfare to this World Cup I'd sell the pkg in a heartbeat. Can't say that if it was a World Series, Super Bowl, NBA Finals, Stanley Cup, Daytona 500, Indy 500, The Masters, etc.

It's been brought to my attention that men who do not like soccer don't think highly of foreplay either...

they are both examples of delayed gratification.

I went to a Winston Cup race maybe 10 years ago, and to this day, it is the most boring professional sporting event I have ever been to.

It was the California Speedway, which is a boring track, but I will never go there again. I would like to go to maybe Bristol one day.

Foreplay is amazing. There's nothing ungratifying about placing your hands on a hot bod.

Bristol sucks now too, they basically reconfigured it into a smaller version of Fontana. The only tracks left that are worth a shit are Darlington, Richmond, Daytona and Talladega.
