Bannister going for the Royals. He better not have another 6+ runs allowed game or we are in for a long day.

well, I'm not really saying it is good, BABIP is an attempt to measure "luck". half a game isn't enough to say someone is (un)lucky, but for what its worth, Brian's batted balls are finding fielders, while Stephen's batted balls are finding holes.

I hear you - I'm just saying this is a problem for the Royals. They seem to manage a lot of hits and very low run totals. Seems to me it's time to shake up the line up and figure out a way to turn some of those hits into runs.

This is one of the craziest days in recent sports memory for me:

USA has like 8 shoulda-been-goals only to finally score one in stoppage time to win the group.

The Isner/Mahut match goes for like 150 games played, close to 120 games in the fifth set alone. And the match is not over yet.

The Royals, of all teams, hand Strasburg his first loss.

The way they were talking about it, MLB Network has apparently ranked the missed call at the plate (which left Strasburg on the hook for the loss) as a worse crime against humanity than the Galarraga call.

Well, it HAS denied him the undefeated career that was his for the taking.

And wouldn't it be something if it kept him from breaking Cy Young's career W record? Strasburg: 511-1.
