View Full Version : Chiefs Who could make the Pro Bowl?

Which Chief can make it to the Pro Bowl this season?

If anyone is curious to know how I put together the list of players, basically high draft picks (minus Dorsey), players that play a key position and players who've made somewhat of an impact for the Chiefs combined.

My guesses

For sure: Jamaal Charles, Brian Waters, Brandon Flowers, Eric Berry and Ryan Succop

Players that could make it if they improve on weaknesses or continue to play well like they did last season: Dwayne Bowe, Derrick Johnson, Tamba Hali ... heck, I'll even throw Matt Cassel here. If his receivers come out strong, then maybe he'll have Pro Bowl-like numbers. But that is IF the receivers do their job and not drop or allow the other teams to intercept the ball.

King Tamba goes to Pro Bowl this year, book it. Along with Brandon Flowers, Derrick Johnson, Succup, and Jamaal Charles.

Flowers and Charles.

Berry would have to be amazing, but we have Ed Reed and Polamalu in the AFC too.

Polamalu has to stay on the field, but even then, there are still two more spots.

Unless this team wins more than 6 games, which I still think highly unlikely, Jamaal Charles is the only potential pro bowler.

Even with more than 6 wins, I highly doubt more than two Chiefs make it.

Not to get off topic, but you see them losing 10 games with the easy schedule we have this year?

I'll go with Charles, Flowers, and Berry. Possibly Ryan Succop. But he would have to repeat what he did last year. Sad thing is, Succop barely got an rec from the awesome rookie season he had as it is.

Oh and possibly Tamba Hali.

If the pro bowl is just a big popularity contest I don't see any chiefs in this year no matter how many games they win. The chiefs aren't very respected in the AFC but that might be because there is some damn good talent in the AFC

none of these guys crack the top 5 at their respected positions in the AFC, there is just too much talent on other teams.

Chiefs will have a 9-7 season with Bowe and Succop going to the Pro Bowl.

If I'm right on this prediction, everyone must transfer all their casino cash to me. :D

Jamaal Charles, and the others I voted for are on the fringe

this, except i think Waters gets in again just because he always does... not because he deserves it...

Only RBs in the AFC that I think are better than JC are Chris Johnson and Ray Rice. Maybe MJD.

Only CBs better than Flowers are Revis, and Nnamdi. Some others like Leon Hall are on the same level as him. Champ will get in because he's Champ.

any of them COULD go to the pro-bowl if we go 16-0. realisitically, flowers, berry, charles, bowe (with a huge year), cassel (if he comes up to average: every year, a TON of qbs decline to go to the pro-bowl... if cassel is the fifth alternate (aka, 8th best qb in the afc), he could be a pro bowler)

Flowers.

I think Charles will have a good year....but he won't make the Pro Bowl. I see Chris Johnson, Ray Rice and MJD as being better than Charles....and then you always have a RB or two that blows up on top of those three.

I think Charles has the best chance. The Pro-Bowl is a popularity contest and Charles has the skills to be a constant ESPN highlight reel week after week. He will be the reason people watch the Chiefs.

Maybe Bowe and Flowers can get a little love in there as well. But they both can have great seasons and still not make the Pro-Bowl. There are too many other big names out there.

I think Run DMC has a shot if they use him the way I think they will
Cassel is going to be looking for him constantly.

He'll probably be less than 10 yards away, so yeah.

They will make it this year if the Pro Bowl is before the Super Bowl again, because all the good players will decline/drop out so the league will go to their 9th alternatives at certain positions. Like last year, didn't scrubs like Vince Young/David Garrard end up playing because any good QB said fuck it. Even Matt Cassel has a chance when nobody wants to play in the Pro Bowl anymore and it's becoming more of a second rate game.

In finally looking at the schedule a couple of weeks ago, I don't believe it's as easy as some/most think it is.

There's only 4 games I see that I think we should win.

Charles is the only that will probably make it. There's absolutely no way Succop will make it, even if he has a perfect season. That position is way too much of a popularity contest. The fact that Colquitt has played at a pro bowl level in previous years and has never made it is a pretty clear sign that he never will.

What's funny is that while Colquitt deserves to go, if Waters is healthy, he's going to be the one that goes. And only because of his status, not becauase of his play.

I'm guessing on 7 to 8 wins total.

GREAT rookie season by being a top 3rd kicker.

Tony Gonzalez is a lock.

Duh because he will beat Vernon Davis, Jason Witten, and Jermichael Finley for a pro bowl spot. And he totally went last year.

I was making a joke about the Chiefs trading away the only Pro Bowl player on their team.
