why did he not get drafted? What is it that held him back? Collins was a part of more wins than any player in KU history (130) but was not one of 60 players selected on Thursday.

Sherron Collins should have entered the draft last year; but he listened to the wrong people. Last year he would have been a millionaire. This year he gets a pat on the back and a well done, son. Brilliant!

What he should have done was shoot better than 4/15 in his last college basketball game, DopeDog.

Not this again. I'm not saying he SHOULDN'T have been drafted. But he was a borderline NBA guy. He is basically a 230 lbs 5 foot 10 shooting guard who doesn't take care of the ball very well. I think he actually could still make a team as a spark off the bench like a Nate Robinson, but the guy is still going to make alot of money overseas.

Hey guys, that was comments on the Eagles page, not mine.

I don't watch a lot of college BB until it comes to playoffs and then I follow KU/KState until they are out so I didn't know if he was all hype or not, that is why I asked you experts.

He was fringe at best to begin with. Then, he gained something like 7 pounds in 10 days between workouts. This guy would be 250 a month after getting his first check.

Because he's 5 foot 10, slow and immature.

Short, heavy, and out of control. I can't fathom why he didn't get drafted.

Former Kansas guard Sherron Collins, who went unselected Thursday night in the 2010 NBA draft, signed a free-agent contract with the Charlotte Bobcats on Friday, according to Collins’ agent. Collins will participate in summer workouts with the Bobcats, who are coached by former KU coach Larry Brown and owned by Michael Jordan.

“I think last night was probably a disappointing night for (Sherron),” KU coach Bill Self said. “But to wake up this morning and know that Michael Jordan and Larry Brown want him in their camp is something to certainly take the sting off from last night.

“Hopefully he will go in there with the right frame of mind and with an attitude to go earn it.”

Sherron has enough skill to play in the NBA in some capacity, but his self discipline or more accurately lack of has alot to do with it. Not very often do you hear about a guy getting fatter leading up to a draft that could potentially earn him millions of dollars. If that doesn't motivate an athlete to get in the best shape of his life I don't know what would. Hell Bill Self and the KU staff had to struggle every year to get the fatass in shape. By Self's own acknowledgement it was so bad at times that he still wasn't actually in shape when the season got started. That shit got to slide because he was so good in the college game, but without him bringing his A game, effort, and shape he'll never make it in the NBA. He's not that disimilar than Denny Clemente as far as being a fringe NBA guy, but Denny with his natural born speed and discipline has a much better chance at making it that Sherron. Denny is also 6'1" which in the NBA's mind is a handicap, but what is Sherron 5'10"? That 3 inches is alot in their eyes. Hope he pulls it together and can make it. If he put forth the effort I believe he can.
