Our Prodigy Coach Haley makes the cut, and they didn't even use his best stuff!

When I was a kid I had the opportunity to hang out with the 49ers team during training camp. I watched their practices, ate with them, the whole nine yards. (Come to think of it, the whole nine yards was probably the length of their average drive in those pre-Montana days.) John Brodie was their QB, and he remains the King of Curse to this day in my mind. Until then I had no idea that cursing could be practiced as an art form.

Didn't Charlie Weis tell Tyler Palko, "You ****ing quarterback, I'll coach." Or something along those lines when Palko tried to change a play during OTAs. That'd be funny to hear during a game.

When Gunther was head coach, he was unbelievable. Marty could lay it down too. Herm Edwards and Dick Vermeil rarely said much at all on the sidelines. Haley was very Gunther-Esque last year, but I have a feeling he'll tone it down a bit this year. You never know, though. It's part of the make-up of these guys. It's hard to change your spots if you're used to coaching and behaving in certain ways.

Gunther Cunningham would have been great on that.

I heard Haley was "asked" to tone it down because he wasn't representing the organization in the appropriate matter.

I heard the same thing.

It must have happened prior to the Pittsburgh game, because he wasn't "the same" from that point on.
