View Full Version : Food and Drink Meat As A Pizza Topping.

My daughter ran to the take-and-bake pizza place in town and grabbed a couple of pizzas for us for dinner. Very nice of her especially considering she wasn't even sticking around for dinner. Here's the thing: She got a larger pizza with BBQ chicken as the main topping. Then a smaller one with pepperoni and sausage.

I sighed as I ate the chicken pizza (hell yeah I still ate it, it's pizza) after she left. Two things I really don't care for as much on a pizza- chicken and fruit. I'd never even seen either on a pizza until I moved to California. Maybe it's a Cali thing. I don't know. I cooked the chicken one first so it would get assaulted in the feeding frenzy that is PIZZA NUMBER ONE. So I'm putting up this poll while I wait for the other pizza to be done. Vote.

It just has to be ton correctly.. Pizza Hut had a delicious bbq chicken pizza like 15years ago, I do not see it on the menu anymore.. Well they have something close but it is not the same..

You can literally stick anything on a pizza..

My mom did pineapple and ham on a pizza when I was a kid, so fruit really isn't anything new to me. The chicken thing does seem to be newer phenomenon in the last decade or so. Personally, I'm a pig guy.

Yeah, they do that out here and call it a Hawaiian pizza. Luckily the local place will sub the pineapple for bacon.

Pig is by far the best for every and anything.

If I had to pick one animal to eat for the rest of my life and exclude the rest it would easily be pork.

And I fucking love a good Ribeye, so that should tell you something.

And anything can go on a pizza; anchovies, fruit, spinach, etc.

Pizza crust is a perfect foundation for any number of combinations and I'll pretty much try anything once. My dad is a 'strictly supreme pizza' kind of guy and that's boring as fuck in my opinion. Variety is the spice of life, y0.

I normally get a a pizza at Pizza Hut or Papa Johns. Hamburger and Pepironi. Extra cheese easy on the sauce.

I can eat pizza with chicken or fruit...don't mind it isn't something I go out of my way to order. I am like Pablo where I enjoy olive oil or a white sauce.

I will say I disagree about the fish as well. Grinder's has an amazing pizza with pesto, olive oil, cream cheese, and smoked salmon. It is awesome.

So, across the street was a Domino's pizza ROFL I picked up a Pizza and was bringing it up to my room when this chubby little Mexican with a kimchi hat on starts pointing at a sign. (I speak fluent spanish) the sign said ''no bringing in food or drink into the hotel''. and Im like, you gotta be fucking kidding me. so I said, gimme the pesos I spent on the pizza and you can have it. and he goes, only this one time my friend..lol the best Dominos has ever tasted in my life.

The funny thing was that everything on that trip was at room temperature. eggs were runny and cold at the breakfast buffet. the milk curdled in my coffee, and he asked if I wanted cold milk? wtf? I'm gonna pack a lunch next time I go to Cancun..lol

I like a good mexican pizza.

Here's what I don't like, however (and if you could see me, you would have seen my finger go up to emphasize my point), canadian bacon. I believe that this is just a fancy name for ham and resembles bacon in no way, shape or form. It is an imposter and a poser. It might as well shop at hot topic and call itself an individual.

There are lots of CB imposters. You're right that it's mostly ham posing as CB. BUT, real CB is really good. It's cut from the pork loin and may not be what you get on a pizza at a pizza restaurant.

I need to say this..... I think I would still hate it on pizza. There's so many other toppings.....ham just seems too unassuming for pizza. Not to mention the slimy texture.

You're right. True CB is very lean and doesn't stand out against the sausage, pepperoni or hamburger on a pizza. The Mediterranean toppings are the best... with the right combination of cheese.

If you guys haven't tried chicken on pizza, I highly recommend it. Get chicken, rosemary, garlic, and tomatoes on a pizza at Minsky's and tell me what you think.

Gross. I don't like it already.

personally, I don't think chicken has enough flavor to make a difference on a pizza. The sauce has a pretty strong flavor, and most pizza toppings have a strong bite that stands out, or a unique texture. Chicken just blends in.

I know this an old thread bump, but I got some Papa Murphy's pizza again. This time I went and got the All Meat Pizza:

Papa's All Meat Pizza, Family-size

three cheeses topped with Canadian bacon, salami & pepperoni, Italian sausage and beef

...and added extra Crispy Bacon. I don't use smilies much. Almost never. But...
