It's your thread. You can do whatever you like! He was a character played in a movie which by the rules you started with would make him count. That said, I could understand if there were an addendum which prohibited historical figures from the competition.

I've never seen said movie. does he play a literal interpretation of hitler, as in, it's basically hitler from history, or is it a play off of it and they wouldn't be recognized as the same character?

I'm inclined to put the kibosh on historical figures; however, if they differ significantly from their historical counterpart, they'll be accepted.

yeah, I'm going to let him count because he WAS a villain in the original terminator. Terminator was a villain in all the movies. :thumb: T1000 would be the best nomination though.

T-1000 (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001598/): Are you the legal guardian of John Connor?
Todd Voight (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0075359/): That's right, Officer. What's he done now?
T-1000 (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001598/): Could I speak with him please?
Janelle Voight (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001280/): You could if he were here. He just took off on his bike. So, he could be anywhere.
T-1000 (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001598/): Do you have a photograph of John?
Janelle Voight (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001280/): Yeah, sure, hold on.
Todd Voight (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0075359/): Could you tell me what this is about?
T-1000 (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001598/): Just need to ask him a few questions.
[Janelle gives the photo to T-1000]
T-1000 (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001598/): He's a good looking boy. Do you mind if I keep this picture?
Janelle Voight (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001280/): No, go on. There was a guy here this morning looking for him, too.
Todd Voight (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0075359/): Yeah, a big guy on a bike. Does that got something to do with this?
T-1000 (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001598/): No, I wouldn't worry about him. Thanks for your cooperation.

I gotta be honest: it's really tempting to make a 128 villain tourney of many of these and other suggestions. (the creme' de la creme of villainy)

format (tentative):

1st round: 16 heats of 8 (top 4 advance from each heat) (to 64 total)
2nd round 8 rounds of 8 (top 4 advance from each heat) (to 32 total)
3rd round: 4 rounds of 8 (top four advance) (to 16 total)
4th round: 8 rounds of 2 (one from each matchup advances to elite 8)
5th round: 4 rounds of 2 (one from each matchup advances to final 4)
6th round: 2 rounds of 2 (one from each matchup advances to final)

Once again, starting in the 3rd round I believe we should have a weighted vote system.

8 selections, each listed 4 times. If you want to use all 4 of your votes on 1 guy, you vote for him 4 times.

Let's people vote with passion for the later and more important rounds.

Henry Hill?

Jimmy would've raped and probably killed Henry's wife towards the end when things were falling apart. Tommy was a damn loose cannon that probably played a major role in toppling the entire enterprise.

Hill was one of the most sympathetic figures in that movie. The closest you have to a villian is Tommy or maybe Paulie.

Except there is no way to do that in a poll and I'm sure H5N1 doesn't want to tabulate the results.

Except there is no way to do that in a poll and I'm sure H5N1 doesn't want to tabulate the results.

sure there is. multiple choice poll, 8 villains, listed four times apiece.

I'm perfectly willing to put a ton of time into this to make it worthwhile.

It got the Rainman stamp of approval in the Smellympics, but I didn't submit the idea until after we started so he didn't want to mess with the methodology midway through. If Rainman likes it, it has to be good.

I tried it in the herolympics, but GoChiefs ignored it because it wasn't his idea.

See, really, it's not. Because people end up just voting for their favorites anyway. That's why you had terrible shit like clint eastwood characters beating up multiple opponents.

The Herolympics didn't fail. They weren't perfect, because Wolverine and The Terminator never should have been included. Other than that, they were pretty perfect.

Ok, yeah I was high on Ambien and Scotch last night. I think my reasoning for that is he was a rat. Mobsters vilify rats.

Here's a super fucking badass that should be included if we go the supernatural route.

http://www.danieltroycarmichael.com/blog/Uploads/Image/2007/WitchKingOfTheNazgulLOTR.jpg

In fact, I think for entertainment's sake, you should stuff this thing full of unholy fuck lords. Forget about pansies like Tony Montana and Hannibal Lecter.

Make the Villainlympics the polar opposite of the Herolympics.

A short list of unholy fuck lords who have been mentioned:

Sauron
Darth Vader
Alien
Predator
Magneto
Agent Smith (still not sure on this one, as he only exists in computers)
General Zod
Terminator (T-1000, we want the unholiest fuck lordiest version of the Terminator)
Kronos
Emperor Palpatine
Venom
Green Goblin
Kurgan
Mr. Freeze
Lord Zedd
Lo Pan
Voldemort
The Witch King
Jason Vorhees
Freddy Krueger

You either leave out most of these guys or throw them all in with a bunch of other unholy fuck lords.

I would like to nominate the multi-trunked, AK47-firing, chick-scoping elephant alien from the book Footfall, please. I know he's only a book character, but I think an exception should be made in his case. Any villain who's scoping out women in the middle of a firefight deserves to be included.
