That game was awesome-we had a major storm going and the electricity went off during the drive-it came on right as we scored.

While it was a great game and fun win, it was just another game in a long line of regular season games.

I remember where I was when the Chiefs won SB IV.
I remeber where I was when they won the playoff game against the Jets and the AFL Championship against the Raiders.

But I don't remember where I was or what I was doing for a regular season game against the Donkeys.

The fact that this team has only won 3 playoff games since 1970 has made regular season games far too important for this fan base.

I certainly remember where I was (I'm not a bitter old man like some people). My parents made me go to bed, but I had just put a TV in my room. I stayed up late enough to see the end, then woke everyone up in the house by running around a screaming like a psycho. My whole life the Chiefs got F'd over by that horsefaced prick, and now we finally had a QB who could take us over the hump, and all the way to the Super Bowl (or so I thought).

I remember i was around 12 and me and my Dad stayed up to watch that game while everyone else was asleep, and when we scored we were jumping around like crazy maniacs, and woke every one up in the house, they were pissed, but we did not care wats so ever.

I blame losing to home against Chicago and not getting home field advantage as more of the problem.

I blame it on the fact that Montana was an aging QB, who had been fragile his entire career to some extent, and even moreso by the time that he was traded for, and that we didn't have a decent backup plan for the time when he would inevitably be hurt and knocked of a big game, or for the season.

Montana beating Elway in Mile High or Stoyo kicking a 52 yard FG in cold wind to win the game? Tough choice for me but I'd have put my money on Montana instead of Stoyo.

How do you NOT go for it on a play like 4th and inches when you have Marcus Allen? I remember people getting mad as Hell at the bar when Marty would puss-out like that.

As to our current defense; I'm stoked about the Flowers/Berry-combo. If those two eventually become our "Thomas/Smith"-combo of the Secondary, I'm going to really enjoy watching this team again, and maybe I will finally get to yell "FUCK YEAH" instead of "FUCK YOU" on a regular basis at the TV for a change.

It's too bad that Montana and Favre never played against each other.

They were always 1 year off from playing eachother. As soon as Montana went to KC, Favre played against SF. And as soon as Montana retired, Bono was the QB. So they missed again.

I finally watched the end of the game last night. On the last play before the winning TD, Montana threw a pass to Greene just past the outstretched arm of Elijah Alexander. I would have never noticed that, but they cut to Alexander after the play and I was like, "Hey! I know that guy!" His son was on the same baseball team that I coached with my son a few years back. I remember the first day of practice and I had my Jayhawk hat on(He went to K-State). The next day at practice, I show up with my Chiefs hat on(he played for the Broncos and Raiders)....hehehe. man...that was a great game.

one thing I enjoyed was the lack of WWF/WWE dances after player makes a routine play/tackle as evident in the games today. And I liked that the uniforms actually got dirty....and players wore real pads for their positiosn (no LBs wearing kicker pads).

..and I forgot how damn good Elway was.

Lots of mistakes made in that game, much like the current team. Time kind of glosses over them, but they are plain to see.

Watching DT and Neil Smith was fantastic.
