If I ever won the lottery, I intended to buy this and restore it to the greatness it once was. Sadly this is probably the final nail

Stanley Nelson, the owner and operator of one of Wichita's most iconic landmarks the Joyland Amusement Park died Tuesday. He was 87.

Family visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Broadway Mortuary, 1147 S. Broadway. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at First Evangelical Free Church, 1825 N. Woodlawn; a graveside committal is at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Resthaven Cemetery.

Mr. Nelson and his wife, Margaret, have been the owners of the park for more than half a century. The park closed in 2006.
