I hate that damn song. My daughter received a rainbow colored chicken for Easter, it did that song over, and over, and over, until I let the dog eat it.

I like just about anything. If I like it, I'll listen. If not, I won't pay much attention.

If I had to choose anything, I'd say nearly anything Lynyrd Skynyrd or Steve Miller Band (pre-80's). The hippy in me (she doesn't come out very often, but she's there) like the Dead and Janice Joplin.

You don't like Pour Some Sugar On Me? C'mon. It's not that girly. And, oh yeah, there will be females there, too.

Aha. There's my one song. Janice Joplin's Take a Little Piece of My Heart.

I'll play songs the girls like too, just won't be a lot of rap,and :thumb: on the Joplin pick, very nice.

Buck is in kind of a sticky situation.

The Chiefs win and he'll have tons of people giving him shit.

The Chargers win and he'll be surrounded by a bunch of pissed off Chiefs fans.

Be careful Buck.

I've already been through both in Denver (Hochuli game in 2008 / Chargers 29 point win 2009).

In the Hochuli game, so many Broncos fans were making fun of me, but I called them stupid because the ref gave them the game. I was so pissed off.

Last year, nobody said shit and they all looked at me with a jealous gleam in their eyes, after they had started 6-0 and were now 1 game back after being up 3.5 games only 4 weeks earlier.

You're going to have a lot of young people there this year. I'd say throw in a few things that are more contemporary and not considered classic or southern rock, and you'll be good. People will like hip-hop, pop, rap, R&B, metal, etc. Just toss a random one in every 20 songs or so. :)

I'm just flipping you shit. I know you can handle it when the Chargers lose on the 13th.

I love how some of the old rockers from the 70's are still putting out quality music,I can just hear them talking to some of these so called new icons,"move over son and let me show you how it's done." :)

I suppose one could say that rap refers to just the vocal delivery method and hip-hop the overall musical sound when taking the beats into account as well. But I don't acknowledge a distinction between the two when referring to a musical genre, and if you read enough interviews from artists working in the genre it becomes apparent that they don't acknowledge a distinction either.

Okay school me,wtf is the difference between rap and hip hop?

Hip hop refers to a culture, usually. Rap refers to the specific musical style.

The four tenets of traditional hip hop culture are:
1) MCing/rhyming/rapping
2) Djing
3) Breakdancing
4) Graffiti

Hip hop has East Coast connotations while Rap is more of a West Coast thing. Now the geographical distinctions have fractured with various regions having their own thing going on and not being divided so easily into a East/West coast thing.

For other people, hip hop is usually more of an intelligent art with, sometimes, indie roots in conscious urban street culture whereas rap is about bitches, guns, and money. You could ask 100 different fans of rap/hiphop about the differences between them, and you'd get 100 different answers. Like Reaper said, there really isn't a clear difference that matters.

If someone says they like hip hop and not rap, they're probably trying to say that they like lesser known or independent artists not mainstream.

Thank you both for the explanation.I like to think I know a little about all kinds of music and was hoping I hadn't missed some great divide separating the two.
