I wonder if stuff is expensive because its trendy, or trendy because its expensive.

Since when do kids get to determine where you buy their birthday gifts?

when my older brother outgrew his jeans, mom would cut them off at the knees, hem them up and give them to me.

That's where our daughter likes to shop as well.

I remember as a kid, my grandpa had the only trash service in town. You guessed it, I got clothes off that truck. Sometimes after my uncles were done wearing them. :spock:

That's really not that expensive. Especially for stupid ass women's clothes.

You got off light.

Anybody ever price the American Girl dolls? Yeah, they're a little expensive. I told my daughter I'd buy her one before I checked the prices and of course being 6 at the time she didn't know they about 5 times the cost of most dolls.

Oh well, she really loves that doll and it travels with her everywhere she goes. And for $95, it better.

Word.

I decided to mark the wall showing the height of our daughter. A month later I checked & she had grown over an inch! I couldn't believe it, I had her back up to the wall again.

She was falling down all over the place while playing soccer shortly after, a parent said when they have a growth spurt like that it takes their body a while to get accustom to it.

She hasn't grown any since that last time.

Crazy

Dang, trash truck hand-me-downs. That's serious.

I'm sure you've told your daughter that story.....and I doubt if she's impressed. I tell my kid that stuff and she's kinda like "Good story dad. What's it got to do with me?".

That is true....... Too bad we're talking about 10 year old girl clothes, not women's. HUGE difference.

Huge.
