It was one year ago that Bernard Pollard missed five tackles in one preseason game. Angered by his ineptness, I gif'd his ass up. (http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showpost.php?p=6023937&postcount=56)

http://www.nancarrow-webdesk.com/warehouse/storage2/2007-w44/img.50600_t.jpg

The gifs didn't lie. Pollard was exposed as a fraud, cut and banished from Kansas City. Emboldened by this great success, I created a massive a thread (http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showthread.php?t=214113&highlight=gif%27d) in which we exposed every fraud on the 2009 Kansas City Chiefs.

http://a.espncdn.com/photo/2009/1014/fantasy_ap_maustin1_576.jpg

No one escaped the wrath of GIF'D UP. Every week, the fucking axe came down with thunder. It was brutal, it was bloody, and it used up a fuckton of bandwidth.

GIF'D UP is back for 2010 and season two. We're going to expose every fraud on the 2010 Kansas City Chiefs. Let's get this show on the road. There are 20 weeks to the Super Bowl, Corey Mays, Jon McGraw, Ryan O'Failaghan and Rudy Niswanger are still Chiefs, and we need to send Mike Vrabel into early retirement.

LOCK AND LOAD!

In about an hour, we officially kick it off with the Atlanta review.

I noticed this play early on. Do you think the massive glut of short routes, all on one play, has anything to do with the QB's limitations?

There's a difference between ignorance and stupidity Laz.

I am not computer savvy.

I have never had anyone sit down and teach me anything about a computer.

Thus I am ignorant when it comes to computers.

You have had people try to educate you on many of the subjects we've discussed, yet you don't learn.

Thus, you are stupid.

The problem here though is this.

Because you are stupid, you will fail to grasp the difference.

I can remember when no one in my neighborhood had TVs.

I didn't sit down in front of a computer for the first time until about '97, and it was shortly after that that I found the old Star BB.

doesn't matter if it does ... it's still stupid.

by having all those short routes it just clogs the lanes and makes everything short more difficult to do. screws up the running game too.

Maybe. Maybe not. You need to get your press credentials and get up to St. Joe. Interview Weiss for an exclusive CP feature. Ask him about it during the interview. And tell him you know this guy on the Internet that can throw the football 65 yards in the air with more accuracy that Cassel. And he'll play for the league min.

So, in this thread we're over-analyzing one play of a preseason game, and in the Broncos/Bengals thread Tebow should have been the first pick in the draft because his thirteen passes in a preseason game rated higher than Bradford's.

1st gif, dont know that Cassel can because of where Waters is. 2nd he tried. 3rd make that Quadruple fail, I like Lilja's header into the turf on his whiff.

Third play he didn't have much of a choice. In the first, he had more than a decent lane if he slid left. In the second, he could have easily slid right or even just taken a step up. Getting rid of the ball fast is one thing. But you have to be aware of your pocket and it seems like Cassel's instinct is to either throw out of his dropback or to boot out. I don't remember seeing a lot of plays where he moves up in the pocket--I don't think he has the pocket presence to do it. Hopefully Weis trains him to start doing that. But that's a pretty big "if."

Nice job, GC. Although, I would say that Albert did not 'FAIL' as the sack was caused by the pressure up the middle. At that point, if you haven't pancaked your guy, you can't do much w/o expecting a holding call. And on McCluster, he bounced right back up after getting hit out of bounds. Also, he didn't retaliate and cause a dumb penalty. I thought McCluster had a good game, especially for a rookie. He'll only get better.

As for RT: :( This franchise really seems to struggle with that position.

Wow that gif of Cassel and short routes is ****ing hilarious and pathetic at the same time.Given the blocking of our "line", what would you have the receivers do? I'm sorry this is not allowed. Tyson Jackson is a talentless hack that is stealing money from this franchise like all the other players on the roster. None of them could play for another team. None of them belong in the NFL. As bad as this roster is we will be lucky to only lose 27 games this season.

IIRC that missed "Charles" block was actually Keeston Moore.

You would be correct.

Also, regarding the O'Callaghan block....all of that could've been avoided if Cassel just stepped up into the pocket. If Cassel steps up then Ryan has a chance to push the RE out of the play. That was just as much on Cassel as it was O'Callaghan.

Nah. Tyson would have slowed down anyways. Unless he took an extra 3 steps and belly flopped on the runningback, I don't think it would have cause a late hit penalty. Vrabel probably didn't stick his foot out like that on purpose. Maybe Jackson should start picking up his feet more when he jogs, to avoid those things.

The safety was retreating from the line of scrimmage at the snap and disappeared from the frame. As quickly as that play developed, he wasn't in a position to make a play on a 5-yard slant.

The split back sets should be really intriguing. There were a lot of things the Chiefs were doing to hint at trickery without going there. With Charles/McCluster splitting the backfield. McCluster sprinting on fake end-arounds.

I like adding a guy like Thomas Jones for change-of-pace, but man, the possibilities when Jones isn't in the game are fucking endless.

ArrowheadMagic is FULL of shit. First off, Claythan doesn't have access the to coaches tape, although I'm sure he'd love to. Also, Cassel made a terrible decision. There was no immediate pressure, he needs to learn how to stay in the pocket. You'd be surprised how many plays this team could make if the QB didn't give up on them so early.

Arguably, every receiver on the field is open if Cassel can just make the throw.

Chambers - Wide open, no question, I don't care where the safety is. Unless Cassel telegraphs the pass, no way the safety, who is probably 3-5 yards down field can get out of his back pedal and jump the route.

McCluster - Again, if thrown in one of a couple of spots, only Dex can get it.

Bowe - on the bottom, no idea what his route is. Is he running a curl?

Charles - He isn't in any danger, if Cassel can get the ball there without it getting picked, there are one of two outcomes. Charles gets hit for no gain, or Charles makes the man miss and who knows how many yards he can get.

If all else fails, which it hadn't, run right and stretch the play out long enough for a receiver to get open. Ala Big Ben. If that doesn't work, there are still options. Try to gain yardage while b-lining to the sidelines, leaving that as an escape route to avoid the hit. Or, throw the ball away, always better than a sack, less wear and tear on your body.

Not a Cassel lover or hater, just hopeful, but he ****ed this up. He's really starting to wear on me to tell you the truth, I'll give him the season to prove himself, otherwise, he had better be gone.

This play perfectly illustrates what I've been railing on Cassel for since before he was our QB - the kid doesn't know what 'open' is.

He needed the throw that ball a step before that frame even, just before Chambers is making the break. The backpedaling safety should've made for an easy read on the quick slant, especially when the LB broke for the back in the flat. It was an easy throw for a legitimate NFL QB to make. Even a guy with an Orton level physical skill-set will be intelligent enough to read and make that throw.

But Cassel doesn't do that...ever. He waits until he sees a guy running uncovered. He's has a High School qb mentality because he never played enough football in college or the pros to re-define 'open' for this level.

He's a disaster. He's an absolute disaster.

Watch the throw at the 1:45 mark. Cassel would never try this.

Comparing Cassel to Rogers is like comparing Kyle Davies to Walter Johnson. At some point, it's not really worth the comparison. I mean let's face it - do you want Matt Cassel attempting that throw? If Cassel tries it, he overthrows it and Bethea comes up with a red-zone pick. Nope, Cassel doesn't need to be throwing between 3 defenders.

No, the problem is really that Cassel loses that very same comparison to Orton or Jason Campbell. Orton or Campbell don't attempt that throw either, but they damn sure hit Chambers on an easy read and an open crossing route.

The guy cannot play at this level. The offense is going to be as simple as any in football and he still won't be able to execute it because he simply doesn't recognize 'open' in this league.

He's worthless. He's the worst player on our offense and he unquestionably makes everyone on the team worse. We'll still have a handful of dipshits claiming it's his line's fault, (I believe Vanilla Chief is presently leading this ever dwindling bandwagon), but this play happens every week.

Huard turtled all the time.

Though he was a lot more accurate, his arm still sucked so he wasn't able to throw a deep out route (and the only deep ball he could throw were those soft butterflies that WRs would run under). He was able to do a pretty good job of finding guys in the middle-seams, though. That's where he made his bones and he wasn't awful in that regard.

Huard faked an injury to get off the field.

anyways, he started 10 games in '07, was sacked 36 times, and still managed a 62% completion percentage and a QB rating of 76.8 (but with an 11-13 td-to-int ratio)

year before he started 8 games and had a QB rating of 98 (with 11-1 td/int ratio)

which means Cassel has a long ways to go to even become Huard...
