No, I'm not kidding. Coffman can't block. His best value is as a slot receiver or TE split outside. He can't do anything when he is pushed inside as a regular TE.

He's not going to play WR - that was my point. Dude runs close to a 4.8 40, and doesn't have a lot of wiggle. He's an excellent receiver (great hands), but he needs to stay at TE and get better with playing with his hand on the ground. jmho

I think so. Bryant is injured, so they'll need a back up plan for him. So it's almost like they're carrying 5 WR's. And yeah, I also think they'll carry 3 TE.

That is why I suggested that he lose weight again. He played WR in high school, and was transitioned over to TE after putting on weight. It sounds great and all by saying that he needs to just learn how to play TE and put his hand in the ground, but his best chance to have a future in the NFL is by doing what he is best at, and that is catching the ball. Lining him up as a TE takes away a lot of what he is affective at doing.

Unless they cut him and I did not notice, the Bengals also have WR/Returner Quan Cosby.

Ocho, TO and Caldwell are locks as receivers. Shipley and Bryant will also make the roster. I don't see the Bengals keeping over 6 receivers, so that leaves one spot open. Simpson has looked liked ass and will get the boot and so will Matt Jones and Purify. I think Cosby will get the last open spot as he had some rather amazing returns for the Bengals last season and they will try and sneak Briscoe onto the PS.

As for TE's...Coates, Coffman and Gresham will make the roster. Kelly will get cut and Hill may land on the Practice Squad.

Antonio Bryant may never play for the Bengals

Posted by Michael David Smith on August 16, 2010 8:03 PM ET

Five months after the Bengals signed free agent wide receiver Antonio Bryant, talk continues that Bryant will never play a down in Cincinnati.

The latest news comes from Jason La Canfora of NFL Network, who reports that the Bengals could reach an injury settlement with Bryant, who practiced on the first day of training camp but has been sidelined since because of his lingering left knee injury.

The Bengals already have paid Bryant $7.85 million in signing, roster, and workout bonuses. It's not clear what the financial terms of the injury settlement would be.

But it is clear that the Bengals are starting to regret signing Bryant to that four-year, $28 million contract. In the months since Bryant signed, Terrell Owens has arrived to play alongside Chad Ochocinco, and rookies Jordan Shipley and Jermaine Gresham looked good in the preseason opener.

There may not be any room for Bryant in Cincinnati.
