Patriots | Tom Brady does not rule out playing elsewhere
Comment (0)
Mon, 16 Aug 2010 08:01:01 -0400

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady said during a radio interview Monday, Aug. 16, that he wants to finish his career with the team, according to ESPNBoston.com. However, as Brady enters the final year of his contract, he acknowledges that he could wind up playing for another team. "I'd love to be here my whole career. I have goals and the team has goals and hopefully they're down the same line," Brady said. "But you never know. Like I said, Joe Montana got traded, and Jerry Rice did, guys I loved watching out there that really were the best players to ever play at their positions. It's hard to think if those guys are not playing for a team, why should I really be excluded from that?"

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady said during a radio interview Monday, Aug. 16, that his relationship with owner Robert Kraft is as good as it's always been as Brady enters the final year of his contract, according to ESPNBoston.com. "Yeah, of course," Brady said. "We've been through a lot. It's been a great relationship since I've been here, with myself and the team and the organization. I don't want anything to ever get in the way of that. You have to be able to separate what a good part of a relationship is, and obviously the parts of the relationship you'd rather not deal with. But you have to deal with them."

Patriots | Tom Brady says taped fingers no big deal

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady (fingers) said Monday, Aug. 16, during a radio interview that the index and middle fingers on his throwing hand were taped at practice Sunday, Aug. 15, because he hit them on a helmet during last week's preseason opener against the New Orleans Saints, according to ESPNBoston.com. However, Brady said the injury is not serious. "It's nothing," Brady said. "It's one of those things that happens."

Patriots ] Tom Brady takes a dump
Mon, 16 Aug 2010 09:12:55 -0666

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady was excused to leave practice early Monday morning because he needed to take a shit. Sources close to the team indicate he walked to the locker room with his butt cheeks clinched. There is speculation he may have had diarrea. It's also been reported Brady likes Charmin because it's soft.

"Most important position in all of pro sports"

The premium players at that position coming out of college go in the first, and sometimes second, round.

This team has a fantasy of trading for some underdog POS that had one good year as a backup for a championship team (with Trent being the exception as he started that PS as the starter) and trying to think of it as a cookie cutter. Just because you put on supermans cape, doesn't make you superman.

Traded a first rounder for a 37 year old Montana
Steve Bono (Traded for a 4th round pick. Went 5-1 as 49ers starter in previous year. 6th round pick of the 85' draft)
Signed Elvis Grbac (8th round draft pick 83'. 3-1 in previous year. Signed one of the largest contracts in KC history at the time...that contract kept us from starting Gannon who we all know how that turned out)
Trent Green (8th round pick of the 93 draft.)
Matt Cassel (Traded a top second rounder. 7th round draft pick 05'. Passed on drafting Mark Sanchez re: afc championship game starter as rookie)

Its no big surprise why we haven't won shit...we had 7th and 8th round talents playing quarterback for us.

Its as simple as that.

I could see it happening. Brady's on the decline and the Patriots might want to get what they can for him while his value is still high. Brady on the decline would still be 10x better than any recent Chiefs QB (other than Our Lord and Saviour Sir Tyler Thigpenne, of course) and we'd probably win a million Super Bowls.

The Chargers drafted Ryan Leaf, he was epic failure. Then they drafted Drew Breez and felt he wasn't good enough so they drafted Philip Rivers. Havn't they been kicking our asses last several years? Havn't they been the most domininant team in the AFCW ? We can miss out on a QB yes or we can hit it big. But for long term success and building a championship team I'd rather draft a QB. Croyle can get the job done now that he has some time under his belt in the NFL. As long as he doesn't get hurt again. Not saying he is our ancwer either. Picking two QBs in twenty years is not trying very hard.

I'm not against drafting a QB. In fact I think we should. I was just commenting on how he made it seem like it is easy. That just drafting a QB will solve all our QB problems for a decade. Just being realistic. Drafting a QB is almost always a crap shoot. The example I gave perfectly illustrates it. The experts argued over whether Manning or Leaf was better. We know the rest. And as Chiefs fans we all know about Todd Blackledge.

So I agree with you. But I'm also realistic enough to know it is far from a sure thing. I also realize that a lot of teams have made it to the SB with a cast off QB. Just in the last couple of years we have Drew Brees and Kurt Warner. What if the Saints and Cards had said "we don't want to take someone else's QB"?

Personally I don't care HOW we get to the SB. I just want to get there.

Roethlisberger and Manning have already won Super Bowls this decade, as has Drew Brees. Rivers has been in the AFC Championship game, as has Sanchez.

If you go back earlier, Peyton's won a Super Bowl and lost another by a close margin. Donovan McNabb's played in like FIVE NFC Championships and one Super Bowl (and lost by three points).

If the Chiefs had taken Aaron Rodgers or Drew Brees, the Chiefs would have at least been in the playoffs consistently, if not the Super Bowl.

Croyle was a 3rd round pick mind you. The expectations arn't the same as a number one or two. Croyle is good but injury prone wich has been his down fall. I like him for two reasons. When he plays you can see that he can make first downs and move the chains, and has improved his play. 2nd he has come back from injuries time and time again, and I admire that about the kid. He got his ASS kicked a few years back from the Titans. Oh our line was bad then too. NO excuses he did not say a word about the line even after a reporter asked him. He played very well against the Ravens last year against a damn good D. I don't know what more the kid can do, he ****ed up when he threw the INT against the Falcons. He is still a learning young QB that has potential. I'm like the rest he is injury prone, but don't say he sucks untill he proves it one way or the other on the field. Cassel has proven he sucks.

Joey Harrington. Alex Smith. Brady Quinn. Jamarcus Russell. Tim Tebow (likely). The list goes on and on. Surely their teams are all going to the Superbowl, all because of their QB.

Alex Smith is still a starter.

Bringing up Tebow is fucking bullshit, but of course, that's to be expected from your sorry ass.

As for Harrington and Quinn, both went to supremely shitty franchises with multiple regime changes. If either ever had a chance to become solid players, their chances were pretty much ruined the minute the Lions and Browns were involved.

Which of course doesn't bode well for the Chiefs, so fuck it.

But then again, I don't blame him. He lives in Hawaii and the closest thing they've had to football was June Jones.

LMAO

June Jones is only good in college.

I grew up in KC, lived in the Bay Area during the Montana era and in Wash. DC in the early 90s when they won the SB. Believe it or not, I've been around football. SB winning football.

What NFL team does LA have again? They do have that college team that got caught cheating....

Just saying. It's obviously not a sure path to a Superbowl. It can just as easily end in complete disaster.

Alex Smith is still a starter, after losing his job to SHAUN HILL. He's only the starter again because they invested so much money in him.

Croyle..... 0 wins

just look at the SB winnig QBs from the last 20 years alone.

JFC.
SB teams have franchise QBs. Franchise QBs are drafted in the 1st round 99% of the time. the Pats and Rams lucked their way into a franchise QB so don't bring up that argument that they weren't drafted in the first;

the only other argument is Brees - who was a high 2nd, and Favre - who was a high 2nd as well I believe, Rypien, and Johnson.

I'll take a team with a 1st round QB to be in the SB/Win the SB. And, if you draft one in the first and he's not the solution 4-5 years down the line....guess what....you draft another one.

i posted this in an older thread....

since 1990, there have been 6 teams that was won a SB with a QB they did not draft:
Ravens (Dilfer), Rams (Warner), Bucs (Johnson), Saints (Brees), Niners (Young), Packers (Favre)

of those, Dilfer, Young were 1st Rd picks (Brees was 32 overall; Favre 33rd overall).

the other 14 Super Bowl winners that drafted a QB, only 2 were not 1st Round picks: Brady & Rypien.

So, of the last 20 SB winners, only 6 were not 1st Round picks. (Warner, Johnson, Brady, Rypien, Favre, Brees)

From another thread.

Yes, it's true.

It can work.

But there are far more stories like John Elway, Ben Roethlisberger, Eli Manning, Troy Aikman, Peyton Manning, etc, than there are like Drew Brees and Kurt Warner.

But don't think adding stiffs like Sanchez to make the list larger reinforces your arguement. Cassels contract is structured so that if he sucks again he's gone and you'll get your rookie qb next year that just because he's a rookie qb you can all masturbate to him.

And the moron who tried comparing Croyles 0-9 to Aikman is just sad. Never. NEVER use the names Croyle and Aikman in the same post.

So.. what... we should feel good about that then? Cassel's contract is the biggest QB contract the Chiefs have ever given, and we're supposed to be comforted that it's structured for failure?

Yeah.. that's all win there. I feel so much better now...

Dumbass...

Just think.

Vick didn't work out and the Falcons are screwed.

Kyle Boller didn't work out and the Ravens are screwed.

Ryan Leaf didn't work out and the Chargers are screwed.

We can't take that risk.

We'll never recover if we draft a bust.

BING BING BING!!!!

Yea lets not feel bad, we got a shit hole QB, burned a 2nd round pick, but hey his contract is structured for him to fail rejoice!

20 years of almost complete failure, of trying to build a team every possible way EXCEPT for drafting a franchise QB...and he still is afraid of the most important position on the team...typical of an ignorant pussy

how many decades do we have to fail before the True Fan inbred aids drinking fukwad morons who populate our fanbase will be able to put 2 and 2 together?

"The Chiefs today hired Pol Pot as their new general manager. He immediately announced an ominous 'five-year plan' to reach the Super Bowl that begins with Year Zero. Also, the Chiefs booster club name has been changed to the Khmer Rouge."
