According to Bob Fescoe O'Callaghan went down in practice looking at his knee that was already in a brace. Who's the right tackle now?

addition by subtraction

Richardson (who Im not a fan, but is now the best RT we have on board...according to the depth chart though, it should be Brown)

I was thinking the same thing but Richardson is hurt, didn't they try to move Brown to guard? Who's the other option swing Ndwuke to right tackle? Goodness.

Although the Chiefs gained a body along the offensive front with Jon Asamoah returning to practice today, both Darryl Harris and Barry Richardson joined Lilja in the bike area to give the line 11 active members for the workout. That number actually dropped down to 10 for a brief moment when Ryan O’Callaghan appeared to suffer a leg injury of some type, but he would eventually return to action.

Gretz says he was having leg cramps, returned, and then was pulled. He also said that Niswanger played guard with Lilja out. He said that Niswanger has only played center with the Chiefs (which I think is wrong). I thought Niswanger played guard and tackle at one point.

Richardson?

He's currently injured and he's far more effective on the left than the right. He started 40 games for Clemson at left tackle and has looked very good on the left.

He's be hovering around average on the right side but it just hasn't clicked for him yet. He looks so much more comfortable on the left side.

I think that if O'C can't go on Friday, Brown should be the starter Saturday night.

The injured list grew by one more during the practice when RT Ryan O'Callaghan started cramping in his right calf and had to come to the sidelines. That left the Chiefs with just 10 available offensive linemen.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

The offensive line injuries caused personnel juggling. C Rudy Niswanger worked at right guard where starter Ryan Lilja was out. Before he was injured, RT Ryan O'Callaghan took snaps at right guard as well. Backup Colin Brown got work at both tackle and guard.

It's hard to believe how bad O'Callaghan's technique is. He's accountable to be sure, but the o-line coaches are not getting it done. Not with him or the other young players. At least not yet. (I hope they don't screw up Asamoah before he even gets started.)

I know Muir has had a long career, but I think he's past his prime as a position coach. They need a younger, energetic, "hands-on" kind of guy. Muir is not that guy. Maybe that's why they moved Pat Perles over from the "Defensive QC" position. He's coached o-line at the collegiate level and some in the CFL, but he's a defensive guy that played LB in college. I'd like to see the Chiefs put him back on defense and try to get an ex o-lineman to help Muir. We've got 2 pretty good ones right here in KC: Shields and Grunny. They're not Haley guys and maybe they wouldn't even accept, but I'd certainly look into it if I were trying to keep the QB healthy.

I think we're getting a little ahead of ourselves when we're talking about benching our Left Tackle and firing our Offensive Line coach because they weren't firing on all cylinders in the first game of the preseason.

Muir is fine. Albert shouldn't be benched. And yes, the Chiefs' talent at o-line isn't that great, but it's good enough that a QB with a hint of pocket presence should be able to move the ball just fine. I'm not worried about our o-linemen. I'm worried that Cassel never seems to understand that he can avoid pressure by sliding up into the pocket.

Well, OF COURSE skilled position players make offensive lineman look MUCH better, as evidenced by the Saints offensive line, the Patriots, the Colts, etc.

But that doesn't mean much this year, considering that Cassel is the starting QB.

If the Chiefs are going to compete with Cassel as QB, they're going to need some MAJOR changes on the offensive line.

I have hung out with him. He's far from dumb in my estimation. Especially when it comes to football. I'd take his judgement on an offensive lineman over your or my evaluation. Well, good for you. Apparently, you're either starstruck or really don't know anything about the NFL.

Here's just a simple Google Search:

For the most part, I've been sending updates about players who have been doing well, now I want to let you know who isn't. Offensive tackle Will Svitek (http://alabama.scout.com/a.z?s=14&p=8&c=1&nid=3711271) has really fallen from grace over the last 12 months. One of the best linemen out of NFL Europe, Svitek earned glowing reports from his overseas line coach and former Chief Tim Grunhard. Since then he’s played in 13 games, with six starts, and is now running with the third team.

Yeah, I think I saw that when I looked. But it certainly doesn't say that Grunny called him a "Pro Bowler". So your claim is still undocumented. I remember Grunny singing his praises but I also remember him saying that it was a long journey from NFL Europe to making it as a starter in the NFL.

Apparently, your head is so far up Grunhard's ass that you can neither think straight or for yourself.

PETERSON: "No, we've been making plans for this some time. Jordan Black started more games last year than John Welbourn did. We drafted a young guy named Will Svitek who had an outstanding year in the NFLEL. I think he's got great promise.

Because Grunhard told him so

I'm hearing good things about his showing so far in NFLEurope. I guess Grunhard is really impressed with him, as are a number of others: like he'll start RT next year, and he may be our LT of the future?

Anyone heard anything about him, specifically?

Lurch is actually Kotter

Let's not name him the next Willie Roaf just yet. The level of talent he's dominating doesn't hold a candle to NFL talent. The pass rushers don't have the speed, and the run blocking schemes just aren't as complex.

Grunhard is getting ahead of himself saying he's better than Welbourne. I also don't think he'll be a starter for us this year, simply because a full NFLE schedule followed by a full NFL schedule would be too much.

By the way, D-Bag Tom, these are from 2006 and 2007

DaneMcCloud

Grunhard also said Svitek would come back from NFL europe and be a monster at LT. It's amazing how little you have to know about something to be successful at it.

More, D-Bag

DaneMcCloud

or was Grunhard talking out of his ass a few months ago when he said he was improved by leaps and bounds and would eventually be taking over the LT position? All I know is he stunk it up BAD last preseason.

This is my absolute WORST nightmare coming true for this football team. If Jordan Black is the starter the offense is automatically reduced by 30-40% and it's highly unlikely Trent will even get through an entire year

More for the Douche

And still nothing even close to resembling a quote from Grunny calling anyone a "Pro Bowler"; as you previously stated in error. In error, yet full of sound and fury... You are the bard's muse.

Shut the fuck up.

This was discussed time and again back in 2006 & 2007.

But of course, you were in Thailand "experimenting", so you'd have no idea.

So once again, Shut The FUCK UP.

And your Lilja take: LMAO

BTW, still no "Pro Bowler" quote, eh? That's ok. I'm sure you heard SOMETHING on the radio. Here, let me climb down there and give you something you can relate to:

The only thing you "exposed" was your ass.

I hope you don't die of AIDS because of it.

He's a dumb cunt.

I provided multiple takes from multiple people from as early as 2006, where Grunhard stated that Svitek would beat out Welborne, to start at left tackle to being "special", etc. Peterson backed that up in his press conference.

If this fucking asslord wants to ignore those quotes, then it just goes to show how fucking stupid he truly is, not that we needed any further proof.

Gretz says he was having leg cramps, returned, and then was pulled. He also said that Niswanger played guard with Lilja out. He said that Niswanger has only played center with the Chiefs (which I think is wrong). I thought Niswanger played guard and tackle at one point.

Maybe what Gretz meant was that he has played center nowhere else, perhaps referring to his college days?

According to Bob Fescoe O'Callaghan went down in practice looking at his knee that was already in a brace. Who's the right tackle now?

I think it is funny that we are all worrying about the o-line and how it all plays out with the injuries and positions changes in hopes that it may protect Cassell.

Seems to me, Cass is getting all of the o-line injured trying to protect his dumbass.....Just my thought.....
