Peter King: Chargers win AFC West, Ryan Mathews OROTY
Don Banks: Chargers win AFC West, Raiders wildcard, Rolando McClain DROTY, Tom Cable COTY
Jim Trotter: Chargers win AFC West, Ryan Mathews OROTY
Dominic Bonvissuto: Chiefs win AFC West
Jerome Bettis: Chargers win SuperBowl, Rolando McClain DROTY
Damon Hack: Chargers win AFC West, Ryan Mathews OROTY
Tim Layden: Chargers lose SuperBowl
Kerry J. Byrne: Chargers win AFC West, Eric Berry DROTY
Andrew Perloff: Chargers lose SuperBowl

Non-Star Who Has Breakout Season: Ryan Mathews, Chargers: In an offensive system that has been kind to running backs, the San Diego rookie will have the ball in his hands often and make the most of it.

Coach Who Won't Be Back in 2011: Tom Cable, Raiders: The team had one of its best offseasons in years with solid draft picks and free agent moves, but another losing campaign won't be enough to save Cable.

(Sorry - no mention of Denver or any Bronco players)

How about Chiefs win West, and Eric Berry is DROY. I'd take either actually.

Why do you give a fuck about individual accolades?

And there's NO fucking way the Chiefs win the West, unless it's the UFL West.

Holy shit, almost a clean sweep for Aaron Rodgers as the MVP. So glad I didn't draft him now, he's going down in week 1.

Well seems every year some team goes from worst to first, or pretty close. Might be our year. But I think the dude taking the Chiefs to win the AFC west might not be handy at picking the winners, since if the Chiefs did that well, wouldn't he have put our coach up instead of the Texans guy as coach of the year?

While I don't think they will win the West.... I wouldn't speak in such absolutes when it comes to this division. It isn't like every team in the division doesn't have a lot of questions.

Well, winning DROTY would certainly be a sign that Berry is living up to most Chiefs fans' hopes.

Seems like a pretty good thing to want to see happen.

There's a very slim chance, but I could see it happening if the chargers start real slow and cassel plays out of his mind(like I said, very slim)

Considering that the Colts have won at least 12 games for each of the last 7 years (no team has ever done that before) and they've appeared in two of the last four Super Bowls, it's hardly surprising that a lot of people will pick them to do it again.

The "Dolts" nickname hasn't really been relevant for a very long time.

If Norv Turner over drive doesn't win a play off game, he will get the axe. Marty went 14-2 loss playoffs and got fired. Norv is on the hot seat to go far in the play offs AFC championship or bust.

Because this team isn't going anywhere, and I'm a big fan of Eric Berry, so therefore I would love for at least one of our players, Eric Berry in particular to win the DROY award. Is that such a crime?

Well there is also the point that if EB wins DROY he did his job, made plays, and did all he could to help the team win. Which is the goal.

Marty only got fired because A.J. Smith is a dumbass.

Marty got fired because Marty is a dumbass.

John Butler and AJ Smith built a SB quality team and Marty wasn't happy with simply coaching that team.

He wanted more say in personnel decisions, and when AJ Smith declined to give him that, he got pissed and created a divide between he and Smith.

If Marty had just ****ing coached the team and not cried that he wasn't a part of the personnel proces, he'd still be there.

It looks to me like Marty was a bigger part of the personnel process than they would like to admit, because the Chargers have drafted for shit since he left.

That's not exactly true.

They have solid contributors from their 2007-2009 drafts and their 2010 appears to be a nice haul as well.

Have they been amazing drafts? No. But they certainly haven't sucked.

A couple of thoughts:
* the QB Marty favored (Brees) has gone on to win a SuperBowl while the QB Smith favored (Rivers) has not
* AJ Smith has picked two (Brees and Rivers) of the top five QBs currently playing and he's acquired extra picks both times
* We should be stealing QBs off the San Diego practice squad and/or hiring San Diego's QB coach

Cunningham: "Crush the Chargers, see the Raiders driven before you, and hear the lamentations of the Broncos!"

I am reminded of Jeremiah 18:22... "May an outcry be heard from their houses, When You suddenly bring Raiders upon them!"

Well, we disagree on that.Yeah, I know the consensus on this board is the Chargers are the model franchise; but hiring Norv and firing Marty was a MAJOR FUCK UP on the part of GM Genious Extraordinaire A.J. Smith.
