The Indianapolis Colts (http://espn.go.com/nfl/team/_/name/ind/indianapolis-colts) have waived injured offensive lineman Tony Ugoh (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?playerId=10486), their second round pick from 2007 out of Arkansas.

They team had envisioned Ugoh as a long-term left tackle, but he lost their faith after playing in 11 games as a rookie and 15 in 2008. He started four games last year after Charlie Johnson (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?playerId=9785) won the job.

Indianapolis intended to try him at left guard during training camp, but a foot injury to Johnson meant Ugoh had to play left tackle. Now dealing with a foot injury, Ugoh was listed as Johnson's backup.

In their injury report emailed earlier Wednesday, the Colts said Ugoh did not participate in practice because of a foot injury.

didn't they trade up to get him, or i'm confusing him with Staley that San Fran traded up for....

if you suck so bad that Manning can't make you look good, you must really suck

If someone claims him off waivers
won't he have to go on the 53
he'll have a few offers later

If I remember correctly.....they traded out of the 1st round.....and then traded up in the 2nd round to get him.

The Colts grabbed Anthony Gonzalez with their first round pick (32nd overall), then traded up in the 2nd to grab Ugoh.

They used their 2007 second and fourth round picks, plus a first rounder in 2008 to move up to the 49er's spot to draft him.

Epic Fail.

It can't hurt to bring him in. How could he possibly be worse than Brandon Albert? /Saccopoo

I would bring him in to challenge Cassel at QB but we know that will never happen

Yeah, because a LT is more mobile and has a better arm than a QB who's started two seasons in the NFL. Jesus Christ, people /Pioli Zombie

It's cool that SNR gets to talk to all the voices in his head publicly. Brave man.

I thought he had a lot of potential when he first came out, didn't think his career would take a downward spiral. Injuries must have played there role.

A lot of people here were pissed off that the Chiefs didn't take him.

It would seem to me the team could be creative.

Bounce someone from your roster, sign Ugoh as a project, put him on pup or IR soon after and then re-sign your 53rd. Let him spend a year healing up and then see what you can do over the offseason.

Wow this shit doesn't come close to following the Colt's usual blueprint........Funny how a franchise QB can mask a front office blunder.

I guess some might say that they realized their mistake and cut their losses.

Colts waived/injured LG Tony Ugoh.
He's out for the year with what's believed to either be a dislocated or fractured toe.

I really like this idea especially with the OL and having multiple spots up for grabs in the future. C Jon Luigs from the bengals was cut and is recovering from Hip problems, Roger Allen G STL knee issues i believe, Donald Thomas G Phins knee, and Ugoh.
