View Full Version : Chiefs Remember the 2001 Bears?

If you are an eternal optimist, that should be your hope for this team. We have the look of a charmed squad through the first two games. Don't be crushed if we end up around 7-9, but some times certain squads (1994 Chargers, 1999 Rams, 2001 Bears) just have an astounding amount of good fortune.

I called 7-9/8-8 at the end of training camp. Anything over that is just frosting.

I'd rather be the 01 Patriots.

Give big contract to QB.
QB gets injured
Backup takes team to SB.

So yeah...someone injure Cassel :D

I get that we have an easy schedule but....

I don't see anyone saying this is a playoff team.

It is realistic to expect the team to win 6-7-8 and that would be a successful season at this stage.

I don't know how this win affects the thinking of the Chief fanbase, but coming away with a win might just fuel another sellout crowd and get the Chiefs another loud crowd for the 9ers next week, giving them a distinct homefield advantage.

This may be the first KC team in years that finds ways to win close games instead of finding ways to lose them. You can call that charmed or lucky or whatever you want, but they're creating their own luck so far. They're limiting their own mistakes and taking advantage of their opponents'. And that's a new thing here in my experience. We'll see if it lasts.

I think they'll be lucky to win one of their next three, either way, the SF game next week being the likely one. They'll lose the two after that.

But, hey, they're 2-0 and I'm not going to nitpick it. :thumb:

we are bad, but Denver and the Raiders look way worse. So there should be 4 wins right there. That puts us at a guaranteed 6, with 5 wins in the division, anything else is just a bonus.

You have to think that's the case - I fully expect a raucous crowd at Arrowhead next week. The local fanbase has to be excited about 2-0 for the first time in forever...

Given how the NFC W looks, there's a pretty good chance we can take 3 from them. Factor in playing the Bills, Jags, and four against the Raiders and Broncos and we might be a team that ends up 9-7 but is closer to 6-10.

They needed a win to have a crowd next week.

Its nice to see us win close games.

nice to see us do it as a team too. Well, minus the offense. lol

*Even though they didn't score a TD, but then again, at least they stepped it up in the 2nd half by sustaining long drives and executed the plays when they needed to. I give them some credit.

What? I would be completely shocked if the Chiefs swept both Denver & the Raiders.

Who predicted 2-0 before the season? Who knows.

Dave Lane.

And he may end up being right at 3-0.

SF will be on a short travel week, so that should help the Chiefs further.

the problem is we are likely to win around 7/8 games which means our ability to draft a top qb is extremely limited.

I would be perfectly fine with 7-9, 6-10 this year.

I had us 8-8 and going 1-1 to start so this fast start is just gravy.

ESPN was commenting about how well they're coached, btw.
