This is a problem. Thought you should know.

P.S. Cassel sucks, and Charles needs more carries.

Charles should have 27 of them.

Hmm...you're going in a slightly different direction here. Perhaps you should consider starting a thread to avoid further confusion?

How many field goal attempts a game do we average? If only we could cut down on those, it would fix everything.

The running game is shrinking in the pro game. It's nice to see people complaining after 2 wins.

Thank you. It's been difficult to demonstrate this level of patience.

Serious question here.

Cassel has attempted 51 or 52 passes in two games, right?

If correct, that means we are averaging right around 48 plays per game on offense.

Pathetic.

2-0. It's working.

(I got nothing. It's pathetic, and I'm hoping the league doesn't confiscate our mirror.)

In your expert opinion what do you attribute that to?

They say it has something to do with third downs, Mr. milkman.

And, of course, the fact that Charles isn't getting enough carries.

During the game the commentators said that last year we were the worst team in the NFL on third down with something like 25% converted.

I think thats similar this year.

Jamaal Charles averaged 6.8 yards per carry on third down last year on 25 carries.

Im sure there are some other golden nuggets in there, but I haven't spent much time finding them yet.

Meanwhile, Matt Cassel has SEVENTEEN pass attempts in 26 3rd downs this season.

Charles has 5 carries on 3rd down, and IIRC, 3 of them were draws. One of them lost 5 yards because we ran the exact same play on 2nd down.

Shitty playcalling, FTMFW.

Sometimes you sacrifice a pawn early in a chess match, to give your opponent a false sense of security.

Yeah. And this will continue until we start converting on third downs.

I think Cassel needs to pump fake more and that could solve a lot of the problems on offense.

This x Infinity.

The playcalling + Cassel's play = Dogshit.

The way to analyze this isn't raw number of runs, it's run/pass ratio. The league has been pass > run in terms of plays called for many years now. It's like a 54/46 split or something. Sure, you have outliers like the Steelers, who have generally resisted the trend, but most teams call more passes than runs. It ain't the 70s anymore.
