Sandy Eggo has the #1 offense in the NFL. Chiefs are the #1 run team. Denver is the #1 passing team. Raiders still can't stop the run, Chiefs & Broncos suck against the pass, but other than that... AFCW teams represent well in the defensive stats, too. We are no longer the weakest division in football:

Total Offense
#1 Sandy Eggo
#2 Denver
#10 Oakland
#15 Kansas City

Rushing Offense
#1 Kansas City
#4 Oakland
#12 Sandy Eggo
#29 Denver

Passing Offense
#1 Denver
#2 Sandy Eggo
#18 Oakland
#28 Kansas City

Total Defense
#4 Oakland
#5 Sandy Eggo
#14 Kansas City
#18 Denver

Rushing Defense
#6 Kansas City
#10 Sandy Eggo
#11 Denver
#24 Oakland

Passing Defense
#3 Oakland
#7 Sandy Eggo
#22 Kansas City
#24 Denver

15 + 1 + 28 + 14 + 6 + 22 = 3-0

You left out a very important statistic, points allowed
#4 Kansas City 38 pts
#18 San Diego 61 pts
#21 Denver 65 pts
#24 Oakland 76 pts

That #4 total defense means squat when you are giving up 25 points per game/

BTW, passing yards is a HORRIBLE measure of pass defense.

Comp % - Chiefs #4 in NFL

Sacks - Chiefs #6 in NFL

1st down % - Chiefs #6 in NFL

Where they're weak is in allowing some big plays. 11x 20-yard+ passes, 4x 40-yard+ passes (1 in the last few seconds of garbage time against SF).

And, after tonight, we'll more than likely be the #3, possibly the #2 ranked.

All sorts of fun to have with stats... KC is 3-0 vs teams that are a combined 1-8.

Yup. And at least one of those victories is against the #1 offensive team in the league & top 10 in scoring.

That #4 total defense means squat when you are giving up 25 points per game/ Agreed. Keeping points off the board is absolutely the most important thing a defense can do.

I think San Diego's stats are miss leading.
Haven't they given up 3 KR and 1 PR for touchdowns? Thats 28 points.

Wow. I had no idea they have given up that many special teams TD's. What a pathetic special teams unit. How does their coordinator still have a job?

Sandy Eggo & Oakland are the worst in the league in defending kick returns. #31 Oakland has allowed 367 return yards, #32 Bolts have allowed 426, & both have suffered from the TDs that result. Chiefs are #3 allowing a measly 147 yards to opponents & are by far the best in the league at returning punts.

We dont suck against the pass. We've given up a couple of long TDs that hurt the numbers thanks to rookie mistakes, and teams cant run against us, so they have to pass. Just sayin.

Chargers have the #1 total offense and #5 total defense and are 1-2?

Guaranteed they have the #32 special teams.

On Monday, Turner said changes will be coming to the special teams.
The Chargers have the top-ranked offense and fourth-ranked defense in the NFL, but they are 1-2 because their kick coverage unit is arguably the worst in franchise history.

Norv Turner said there will be changes. And while he did not rule out someone being released and new blood being brought in, he said he thinks the Chargers have the players to fix their special teams.

“One of the ways to address it is to get some guys who have done a great job in the past who aren’t featured on the coverage teams,” Turner said. “Obviously, I’m talking about guys who are starting players who have been good special teams players in the past … We have some young guys that need to grow up and while they’re getting ready to grow up we need to put some guys in there that have done it so we don’t have the issue.”

At least a couple of those players – Eric Weddle and Brandon Siler -- were practically volunteering for duty Sunday night after the Chargers lost 27-20 to the Seattle Seahawks, largely on the strength of Leon Washington’s two kickoff returns for touchdowns.

Looks like some of our starting Defense will now be playing special teams too.

I guess it's a good thing Pioli addressed the special teams in the draft. Damn! your special teams are killing you. BTW, is AJ Smith still a genious(cp spelling)?

Right you are. Number 2 in scoring D now. Should be #1 if not for that late garbage TD on Sunday.
