View Full Version : ChiefsPlanet The "Bing" Ad...

Does the Bing ad that occasionally shows up at the bottom of the Planet make your browser jump down to it? It seems to do it every time on mine (Chrome), and it's incredibly annoying.

I reported it to Google Adsense, but I'm curious to know if it's just me or if it's something with my setup.

What browser are you using?

There's not much I can do about it other than turn ads off entirely, which I'm tempted to do until that one gets out of the rotation.

What is with this new Bing ad? It is screwing up the way the pages load. Every time I click on a thread to go to the last unread post it takes me to the bottom of the page to this damn Bing ad before it finally jumps back up to the first unread post. It never did this before today.

Actually, now that I look into it, I think AustinChief should be able to block it from our Adsense account. I don't think I have access to that, though.

Read the thread. We've tried, but it's not getting it for some reason.

In the short term, I'd recommend Chrome users install AdBlock (https://chrome.google.com/extensions/detail/gighmmpiobklfepjocnamgkkbiglidom) until the ad gets out of rotation.

Bing is like walking into a spider web. I'll be wandering around in some web site and Bing will bring up a popup window and then I spend the next 15 seconds or so trying to get that window to go away, during which time I accidentally trip across something else that brings up a popup window, and the whole thing just grosses me out and makes me want to go home and take a shower.

This is a MAJOR problem throughout the adsense network right now... Bing and Google are getting major flack over this , I expect it to be resolved shortly. In the meantime I have reported the issue and attempted to block it as best we can. For now, we'll leave it as text only ads until after the games.

It shows up everywhere. Every once in a while (it's rare, thank god) my browser for some reason goes to Bing and I have no idea why. I have a Bing search window on my blackberry that I can't get rid of. I never want to use Bing, never want to go to their goddamn website, and yet it keeps cropping up all the time unasked. I HATE bing. I quit going to msn.com because that's the most annoying click-through piece of crap anyone ever invented. Don't accept their ads.

microsoft.comAnother thing you could try is to disable 3rd party ads. This way you should only server out google adsense ads. It might knock earning down a bit though.
