from DirecTV? I didn't realize they were charging me $49.99 a month for 6 months until now. That's $300.00! That's to much!

I knew there was a thread about it. Thanks. It's probably to late to do anything about it at this point but next year I'm not paying that much. Originally it was $150.00 and I could handle that but $300.00 is just to much. Next year they'll give me a deal or they can come pick up their shit and I'll go back to cable. The NFL package is the only reason I have DTV so if they won't bargain then I'm done with them.

Yeah, that was like...ten years ago. Do you not ever open and read your bills?

Called and complained about the placement of our HD dish.

Got the deal given to new subscribers as a "sorry" and a dish realign.

New package is free Sunday Ticket and the supreme movie channel package at basic price for 6 mos. Also free HD for 2 years and free On Demand hookup.

This was only 2 weeks ago, so I think there is still hope for you time-wise. The wife is a much better complainer so I had her call. Tell them you want to cancel and they'll send you to a "sorry" specialist, but you have to sell it. We had a comcast package in mind already.

My wife paid the bills for years but I've taken that over at this point. So no I didn't open the DTV bills until recently. I hadn't realized they had doubled the price.

I'd pay $600.00. For me to go to a sport bar for the better part of 16 weeks, pay $10 parking and $40 for for food and drinks, I'd easily drop $750 and that's just for Chiefs games. With the package, I can watch every game.

For the most part, at least to me, it's priceless.

Pay for parking?

Fuck that. The establishment better have a parking lot or I'm going elsewhere.

No, it's not a problem here. But thanks for pointing that out. I was unsure after all this time here. :D

I don't have it for Chiefs games I get those on a local channel and I get the Rams too but I don't wanna watch them every week. I like to choose which games I watch and also maybe have different games on different TVs about the house on sunday depending on who's over. I also like getting the Red Zone but damn for $300.00 I might have to start watching me some Rams.

I'll probably end up keeping it but I'm in a lower my personal overhead mode. Between all these neat things available in todays world I'm spending to much money. Cell phones(on top of the land line) , high speed internet and SAT TV with a $300.00 NFL package. I'm spending $300.00 a month on three cell phones and TV. That's nuts.

I agree here...except I don't have to pay for parking around here but the bar price is about the same. I'd do it again except I have no place to put the dish right now, the killer with the mobile is a lack of built in DVRish functionality. If they did that I would totally do it. Because I tend not to wake up at 10am on sundays like 11-12.:)

Then enjoy walking from your home or walking several miles to a bus stop, then pay for bus fare.

Parking is a luxury in cities with 20 million people.

Either you pay valet or parking fees (between $5 - $20 bucks for a spot in Hollywood). Street parking is $2.00 per hour but if your meter runs out, your car will be towed AND you'll get a ticket.

That'll run you around $350 dollars, minimum.

I'd rather pay for the Ticket.

I tried to call and get the discount but I just started using Directv in June and was already getting half off my service for the 1st year for being a new customer so I couldn't get it any cheaper. They did give me Starz and Showtime free for an additional 6 months when I called, though. It's a lot of money but the Red Zone channel is great and I can watch every Chiefs game without going to a local sports bar and spending a lot more than the 20 dollars per weekend that Directv charges me.

Anyone who subscribes to Sunday Ticket also can watch sunday ticket (or red zone, et al.) via internet stream with their account login. A buddy loaned me his last weekend, but he needs it this weekend for the Steelers game. Problem is that it's their whole DTV account login they'd be handing over, so you'd really only want to share that username and password to people you can trust.

I checked their website and it says I have to have the Sunday ticket to go package which is an additional 10 bucks a month to watch the games online. Did your friend have that or is there another way to watch it online?

I use streams, grandllama has been a god send, and if he ever sets up a direct donation, I will glad throw him a few dollars. I don't even have the option of DirecTV, but do agree, 300.00 is way too much.

ST Package and Mobile Ticket are worth every penny.

Depends how much you value your time. If I had to choose behind spending $$ at a sports bar; and ST; still cheaper.

BTW, Mobile on a IPAD rocks! Fun watching games while traveling.

Yeah, they rearranged their packages this year so that HD is included in the base package, but online streaming is an extra $50.

Up here I pay $30/mth. That gets me the Sunday ticket plus all the baseball/hockey/basketball/nascar/junior hockey included. It's pretty sweet especially when each week it's that damned Bills on regular cable.

similar here. 40 a month and its seahawks rammed down my throat instead of bills on cable. you can debate which team is more annoying to watch. I'd pay double that if I had too; I remember seeing MAYBE 2 to 4 KC games a year on regular cable in the 80s.

That's back when the Chiefs used to get a prime game or two.
