WEEK 1

Oklahoma and Oregon stand atop the first BCS standings of the 2010 season.
The Sooners (6-0) lead the way and moved up to third in the AP Poll, which was also announced Sunday.

While Oklahoma is a traditional powerhouse out of the Big 12, Oregon is experiencing unprecedented national success, having garnered the school's first ever top ranking in the AP Poll.

Boise State, ranked second by The Associated Press, came in third in the BCS standings, and at 6-0 the Broncos still have hopes of crashing the BCS Championship Game.
Auburn, TCU, LSU, Michigan State, Alabama, Utah and Ohio State round out the BCS Top 10.

Boise St will be playing for the NC. I fully expect them to win out. I can see Oregon and OK losing.

Boomer Sooner! If OU loses, it will be this week. I don't think OSU or any North team on a neutral field can beat the Sooners.

Well, I didn't think that the Cats would be ranked this high, but considering their schedule, it is a tough one. Just amazed that they're at 5-1 at of this point. Didn't think they'd be 5-1, was thinking more of 4-2 or 3-3.

Just one more game is all we ask at of this point.

Mizzou has to win either this week or next to still be ranked in the BCS poll. If they lose both, it's not going to be fun.

I've had a hard time reading Oklahoma all year. One week they look overrated, the next they're beating Florida State or Texas handily. And I have no idea how good Missouri is, because they've played exactly nobody.

Really looking forward to that one...

I hope not. I'm a big Sooner fan.

I just remember them beating us two years in a row....so I never take them lightly. More worried about that game than Mizzou. Does that make sense?

Every time Missouri starts getting national attention they play Oklahoma and get destroyed - sadly, it's as predictable as a sunrise. :(

I'll happily eat a bucket of crow if I'm wrong, but Gooner red has always been like kryptonite for Pinkel and his stupid spread offense, and I don't see any reason to believe that will change.

Happy to see my Sooners at #1. The computers are loving the Big 12 so far as well -- good to see, whatever the reason is.

I gotta know though, how is VTech 25th? I know they've won the last 3-4, but they lost to JAMES MADISON at home, and it wasn't really close.

There is a zero % chance that BSU or TCU will play for the National Title if there are at least two one loss teams cumulatively from the Pac 10, Big 10, Big 12, and SEC. You can quote me on this one.

If Alabama wins the SEC championship with one loss or Nebraska or Oklahoma wins the Big 12 Championship..or hell if Iowa, Wisconsin, or Ohio State win the Big 10 with one loss...all are going in front of Boise State man. Stanford's got a shot too @ one loss.

If BSU is #1 in both polls, they would likey be no less than #2 in the BCS, provided they were the lone unbeaten.

If the voters do not want BSU in the NC, they would not currently be ranked #2.

Totally agree. Two one-loss teams from the Big 12 or SEC will play in the title game ahead of both Boise State and TCU.

The latter are going to play nobodies for the rest of the year while the big boys play real games. It is only natural that more votes will go to teams that are playing the big games down the stretch.

1 loss, or undefeated? If BSU is the only undefeated team left, they will play for the NC.

Nope. The computers hate Spud State becasue of their strength of schedule and will place 1 loss teams from the power conferences ahead of an undefeated Spud team. From here on out the computers will award Boise less points each week due to the opponents they play.

Yep...their BCS score has pretty much peaked. It would take the top teams from each power conference having two losses to get them in the championship game.
