View Full Version : Computers Best site for domain hosting?
Only one I've used is godaddy. Is that pretty much the best, or just the most heavily marketed? Anybody tried a few and have a favorite? Thanks for any insight.

I've always used GoDaddy. Cheap, and it works. Not much else to it.

GoDaddy is the best as far as I'm concerned. Their marketing is slick, but so are their services. Cheap and easy. Don't need much more than that.
I've used mydiscountdomains.com for years. It's a reseller for shopco or something like that. They were 8.88 when everyone else was 40 or 20 and they threw in DNS when others didn't. I think the rest of the world has caught up and they are actually about average for renewals now. So I've started using Google's domain services a bit more. Using their free google apps service for simple stuff. I've been thinking of moving them somewhere else, but it's kind of a pain, so I stick with them.

Godaddy.
I am actually tinkering around with that now, moving a website from one host provider to another and updating DNS stuff in my mydiscountdomains account. I just found out that one of myDD offers free contact privacy. I think most places have traditionally asked for an extra fee for that.
$8.88 for new domains
$14.88 for renewals
Not sure how that compares.

I use siteground for all of my domains. I love it so very much. Always up, lots of free tools, super-reliable service. It's fast, and unlimited bandwidth, too.
