I have never been to Invesco..

Any pointers?

I am thinking about flying into Denver in the morning going to the game and then flying out to my next job that night..

How bad is the traffic? Is there mass transit?

Traffic's not bad, but the airport is practically in Kansas. If you're out of the game traffic around the stadium, you need to allow at least two hours to get to the airport and turn in a rental car and get to your gate. That's not counting any time at the gate (i.e., "get there two hours before your flight").

It.

Takes.

Forever.

In a cab you can probably take an hour off of that.

There's a secret that locals know on mass transit. At the airport you can take the AF bus (RTD - public transit) and it'll take you to Lower Downtown for something like $9. You can then walk to a zillion hotels, and with a short walk you can also take one of the light rail lines to Invesco for something like $2.50. (I haven't done the light rail to a game and don't know how crowded it is.) On the way back, you can take the light rail back downtown and jump back on the AF bus for the same cost.

So you can rent a car and it'll take 2 hours each way and cost you probably $100 a day, plus downtown parking if you stay there.

Or you can take a cab downtown and to the game for something like $80 or $90 each way (total for two cabs out and back). It'll take you an hour or so.

Or you can take the bus and light rail for about $23 round trip. It takes a little more than an hour on the bus to the airport - maybe 75 minutes.

The fans are dicks, not even kidding.

I was treated with about 10x as much respect in Arrowhead than in Invesco. I'm a Chargers fan in case you didn't know.

Also there is a demonic horse at the Denver Airport.

I know there can be some dickhead Chiefs fans, but I'm pretty proud of the fact that this is what I usually hear from visiting fans who went to Arrowhead. I remember after the Thanksgiving game we went to the Plaza to celebrate. We saw a couple Denver fans at the bar we were at and he was hammered. He practically hugged us. He said it was the best game experience he'd ever had even though they lost. I was pretty blown away.

I hear they painted over the scary ass murals too. Or most of them at least.

I took my wife to Invesco a couple of years ago for her 40th (she is Bronco fan) and the fans seemed pretty tame. The whole stadium felt "corporate" to me-sorta like the Club level at Arrowhead. One thing is for sure, they know nothing about tailgating. I would have no problem going back.
