We just haven't been able to do shit against the pass the last two weeks.

To be fair our pass defense has been pretty bad all year. Flowers is a bright spot, but we've been awful against TEs all season and Indy/Houston tore us up in the second half of both games. It shouldn't be that much of a revelation.

It has been shit from day one.

Berry needs time. He is going to mate with Ed Reed and Try Palmoulu during the off season.

The CB's give the WR's 12 yard pads to get off the ball, whereas good teams bump them and play man to man.

We play the stupid f*cking cover 2 which doesn't work unless you have major pass rush.

Orton took up crochet on that last TD pass.

Did I actually count 5, FIVE!!!!, bounces in his setup?

1. It has been weeks since the front three have generated much pressure.

2. Hali is our pass rush. Refs through out the league have decided that it is okay to choke him, as long as you don't throw him to the ground more than 2 or 3 times a game.

3. Injuries at safety.

4. Carr is inconsistent. Some games he is nails. But sometimes he struggles to stay with a receiver, and then his ball skills fall apart.

5. Belcher and Vrabel are liabilities in coverage.

6. Berry is young.

7. The pass defense was new at the beginning of the season. There is now film on our schemes. Teams know our weaknesses.

8. We haven't stopped the run well in recent weeks. Makes everything worse.

FS in the 2nd round this year:

http://walterfootball.com/draft2011S.php

Deunta Williams, FS, North Carolina
Height: 6-2. Weight: 205.
Projected 40 Time: 4.45.
Projected Round (2011): Top 25 Pick.
10/9/10: Williams is done with his suspension and debuts this week against Clemson.

5/14/10: Deunta Williams was an All-ACC First Team member, thanks to 47 tackles, eight pass break-ups and six interceptions.

Rahim Moore*, FS, UCLA
Height: 6-1. Weight: 197.
Projected 40 Time: 4.48.
Projected Round (2011): 2.
10/9/10: Moore has not impressed me this year. I know he has talent, but the bottom line is he is not producing and has been burned several times. He needs to step up.

5/14/10: Rahim Moore picked off a whopping 10 passes in addition to his seven break-ups in 2009.

DeAndre McDaniel, S, Clemson
Height: 6-1. Weight: 210.
Projected 40 Time: 4.43.
Projected Round (2011): 2.
10/9/10: McDaniel hasn't played like a first-round pick. He showed terrible awareness giving up a couple touchdowns to Miami last week, and I'm really down on him this season. Disappointing.

5/14/10: DeAndre McDaniel is an impressive athlete and can play either safety position. He collected a whopping eight interceptions in 2009 to go along with his 98 tackles, 6.5 TFL and two sacks.

I'd say it comes down to the fact that the Chiefs pass rush has been lacking big time the past two weeks. That's generally not a good thing. There's also the fact that the past two weeks the Chiefs have given up yardage to opponents on the ground as well. If you can't stop the run and you're not getting pressure on the QB then most likely you're going to give up yardage through the air as well. Hopefully they can get this corrected and kick some Cardinal ass next week at Arrowhead!

Lost in all this ... Moreno's first 100 yard game and Tebow's first NFL passing TD. Crazy.

I expected the 11th string safeties or whatever to be bad, but what has happened to Brandon Carr? He used to be a decent CB, but he has been excruciating to watch this year. Pretty much every complete pass all year has been in his general direction.

Let's not forget that Gilberry is a good pass rusher, too.

He and Hali disappeared today, and Studebaker continues to show he has a LONG way to go before he's anything more than a backup.

Our whole defense looked pathetic. Couldn't stop the run or the pass. Denver scored everytime they touched the ball in the first half. (Except the field goal miss) I hope today was just a fluke because our D was painful to watch.

He was a hold out smart guy. Screw Page. Injuries happen. We got bit by it. Lewis will be fine there in time, and McGraw has really become a TE killer.
