Leslie Nielsen dead at 84
CJOB News Team reporting
11/28/2010

Canadian funnyman and actor Leslie Nielsen has passed away in hospital in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.

The star of comedy hits such as "Airplane" and the "Naked Gun" series dies of complications from pneumonia, according to his nephew Doug Nielsen, who lives in Richmond BC and confirmed the news with CJOB's sister station CKNW......

Doug tells CKNW his uncle was hospitalized about 12 days ago and was suffering from pneumonia.

He says his condition worsened over the last 48 hours, and he passed away with his wife and friends by his side...

Doug says Leslie's wife Barbaree told him the news over the phone Sunday afternoon.

Leslie Nielsen was 84 years old.

I really don't do any of that, that's probably why I don't know who these people are. I'm a huge sports fan, including MMA and pro wrestling. I never miss any of my teams games (sometimes have to DVR NHL/NBA ones), and I still spend a lot of time w/ gf/family. Doesn't leave much time for TV/movies, and I usually think they're boring as fuck anyways. Sometimes I randomly order movies in bed at like 4am though, but it's rare.

Next time I get bored I will watch some episodes of those shows though.

That sucks...RIP Leslie...

One of the funniest things about Airplane was that they cast actors (Bridges, Stack, Graves, Neilsen) who were known more for being serious at the time. They all played it so deadpan, it was hilarious...

RIP..

I used to love his shows when I was little, Airplane, Naked Guns.. But I tried to re-watch them and they were not the same, they did not age well with current humorous movies.. Well unless your are over 40+, then everyone I know that age still loved those movies..

His movie career was epically long..

Try to find a single person who has seen any of his films who doesn't think he is funny as hell, you cant.

RIP Leslie, the comedy world just took a major loss with your passing.

Agreed....Ironically, one of my favorite roles of his was in Creepshow.
