Broncos receiver Brandon Lloyd will make homecoming today (http://www.kansascity.com/2010/12/04/2497761/broncos-receiver-brandon-lloyd.html)

Broncos wide receiver Brandon Lloyd, the former Blue Springs star, has been in the NFL for eight seasons, but today’s game against the Chiefs will be his first regular-season game at Arrowhead Stadium.

Lloyd has been one of the few bright spots for Denver this season, leading the NFL in receiving yards with 1,122 on 58 catches for a whopping 19.3-yard average. His nine touchdown catches are tied for third in the NFL.

“The first time I played in Kansas City was my rookie year,” said Lloyd, who has spent most of his career in the NFC. “It was a preseason game with the 49ers. Well, the first time I played was in the seventh grade. The Pop Warner Super Bowl was in Arrowhead and that was in ’94 and all the lights weren’t on, and it was at nighttime, so that was the first time. The second time was with the 49ers.

“So, this will be the first time I will be able to play a regular-season game in Arrowhead. Every kid who grew up in Kansas City playing sports knows it is a big deal to either be playing for the Chiefs or playing against the Chiefs in Arrowhead, and I am no different. So, I am pretty excited to go back and play.”

Did his team win that Pop Warner game at Arrowhead?

“No,” Lloyd laughed. “We lost to the Bengals.”

Brandon Lloyd was such a freak of an athlete in high school.

A little bragging moment:

My junior year, I played receiver at Lee's Summit. Lloyd shadowed me all game, and I ended up with 10 catches for 179 yards against him.

Yeah, that's right. I owned Brandon Lloyd.

Of course, he was playing both ways, was their punt and kick returner, kicker and punter.

That's funny, he said he wasn't really a Chiefs fan just a Nick Lowery fan, right? I think I read that not sure.

Well maybe he was just wearing the jersey to look fly, I'm not sure either, but it is one of the most prevalent memories I have of him.

Most black people wear jerseys to look fly, they like the colors, don't know crap about the team.

Is it racist?
