The fact that you even asked this question... Means a BRIGHT future for this secondary.

Carr = Flowers

although their games are totally different.

If there are Cassel crowburgers being passed around
the Carr crowburgers need to be on the grill

That was my immediate reaction as well. If only we had a healthy flowers right now. I'd feel a lot better bout the next 2 games.

Has Carr surpassed Flowers?

I don't know. But I know he has surpassed Bartee.

I want to mention something here and this may be irrelevant but it does pertain to the improved play of Carr and Flowers.

I credit their success in large part to Emmitt Thomas.
Quietly, he has been one of the Chiefs best off-season acquisitions. He's a great coach.

Flowers I think is injured somewhat still.

Carr has been great all year though.

Think you may be right about this. I think Flowers may be nursing an injury but it's good to see Carr, Berry, Lewis and Flowers playing better each game.

Carr is bigger so that gives him an advantage flowers doesn't have. Flowers still plays better but Carr physical skillset makes up for it.

Carr is playing great ball, but you can't deny the fact that Flowers is one of the game's best open-field tacklers.

Carr/Flowers = Ross/Lewis?

No. Flowers was playing better than Revis did last season before he got hurt. After he got hurt, he hasn't played at that same level. Not a coincedence he's not playing as well after an injury. He's not 100% and probably wont be the rest of the season.

That being said, Carr is playing lights out. Ive said for 2 years now that Carr is a good #2 CB, and he's proven that. I said he was our 2nd best CB we've had in the last decade, behind Flowers of course.

Our secondary will be better next year with more experience for the new guys and playing together. Pass rusher and NT, and our D will be set.

What is it that makes a young corner all of a sudden start turning his head around as the ball gets there?...Bartee and Warfield never ever ever turned their head around...It is like the game all of a sudden slows down and they can read a receivers eyes and actions and that is what separate the elite.

I'm just glad we have a promising foundation for a awsome secondary.

On the subject of defensive backs, I was impressed with Travis Daniels' open-field tackle on that late kickoff. If he whiffed, that would've been a long return.
