I'm pretty sure the location of the stadium is the least of the factors that are affecting attendance. And they won't be building a new stadium any time soon, in case you forgot or weren't aware they just dumped an assload of money into Arrowhead.

I meant in the future, obviously.

I just want to keep it under $70 per seat. For the raider game it is hard to find anything in the $50 range that isn't row 35 and above.

$60 in row 21... with service charge and shipping you are looking at $67

People act like downtown KC is so built up you couldn't have plenty of space to tailgate.....

Shit, just blow up Kemper and all the crap around it (minus the American Royal, or whatever it is called) and there is easily as much room as TSC.

I am only using the last as an example. Everyone here knows there are about 10 places in the KC metro area that would serve as better places for whenever the Hunts decide to build a new stadium.

If JaMarcus Russell mixed LSD into his purple drank he could post something more realistic than you.

Why don't you give Reality a chance?

I mainly want to be on the northwest corner of the stadium in front of the endzone. Basically 342 and over and lower than row 25. I have a few picked out but I am going to wait until Sunday night to pull any triggers.

You're at the other end of the stadium. I hate that end, basically for traffic reasons.

I like my end for traffic purposes actually. Coming from the Lake of the Ozarks I take Highway 50 to 350 to Blue Ridge Cutoff. Traffic is normally a breeze.

It's either the economy or the fan base has really changed.

Its both. Fan base from the 90's is getting older. The Season Tickets then were in late 30's and 40's. Now they are 50's and 60's. The next group down - Gen X, is a smaller generation. Gen Y, the largest one is just now getting into the workforce and thus haven't really got the income yet to buy season tickets.

From the Star...

Status on blackout on hold
The Chiefs said today they are still working with the league in trying to get Sunday's game against the Tennessee Titans shown on local television.

It's apparent the Chiefs did not sell enough non-premium seats by the noon deadline to lift the local blackout.

But with plenty of tickets to move for the Jan. 2 team against Oakland, not to mention a possible home playoff game on Jan. 8 or Jan. 9, the Chiefs want _ and need _ all the television exposure possible and basically a three-hour advertisement this Sunday.

I just added two pics to the Christmas Music That Doesn't Suck thread, of the TSO concert I saw last week. Always an awesome show. Although they have two seperate groups (sort of like how Ringling Brothers has two different circus trains), and I don't know which one you're getting. There's sort of an "A group" that does the big cities on the east coast and a "B group" that does smaller cities at the same time (for example, on 12/23 they play both Toronto and Colorado Springs, on the 26th it's Albany and Milwaukee). The same night they play KC they also play Grand Rapids, so I would think KC will be getting the "A" version.

Probably.

You'd think they'd do some holiday special, any remaining tickets half off, or something like that.

Better than giving them away, or buying them back at .30 on the dollar.

At least then the place has people that want to be there in the seats.

I still can't believe it's even an issue for the next two games, considering what's at stake.

Its that Show Me State attitude. Not to mention a freezing ass day after Christmas for the casual fans would be a tough sell. NFL should know better though. They need to schedule the last 3 weeks as divisional games for all across the league for attendance and tv purposes.

Pathetic? It isn't like I had the extra $160 + parking to spend if I really didn't need too.

It would be if I hadn't just moved here from Colorado last month, and just recently found work. 2011 I'll be there. But this year just isn't possible.

Shit, I wish I could go to all the home games but that just isn't in the cards for me. I do love watching games at home in the comfort of my recliner with HDTV and surround and CP. BUT the actually gameday experience is so much better.

I had to give up the CP part of this equation to actually enjoy the games anymore. In fact, I usually wait several hours after the game... win or lose... to come on here and get the pulse of the Planet.

As an out-of-towner who would be a season ticket holder if it weren't for the 10-hour drive, this post makes me sad and is evidence of WHY the NFL has the blackout rule.

No kidding. How many guys who would be pissed if their wife tricked them into going to a Chiefs game. That harpy!!;)

It's not that I don't want to go. But between the weather and moreso our current finances I would rather have stayed home if possible. I was willing to sacrfice if it need be but there isn't a need. And what has me the most pissed about is just the way she handled it. Long story short this has been a habit of hers lately where she says something about something and then changes her tune after the fact. So it isn't just this one instance, unfortunately.

I have froze my ass off in a playoff game. And in 10 degree weather at a Raiders game (got sick for 2 weeks). And in the cold pouring rain against Cleveland. The list goes on. I see Nebraska and Oklahoma tags all over the parking lot. So **** you and your 600 miles you weak-ass Chiefs fan.

“It’s Christmas time, the economy hasn’t been that great,” guard Brian Waters said, per Covitz. “Coming to a Chiefs game or buying your kids Christmas gifts . . . I imagine we’ll probably lose out to a lot of people. But we know how important it is playing at home and how important the fans are to us. If there are some people who happen to have a little extra money or want to give a couple of tickets to the game for Christmas, we hope they come out. I appreciate anybody who is willing to come out there in the cold and be able to spend their dollar.”.

I have not been bitching because I am not going, but do disagree with this statement. If I only had to pay for the tickets, I would most likely go. However, the extra $500.00 in airfare it would take to get me there makes it a little prohibitive. When I lived there I went to as many games as I could get tickets to (sell out era), and believe if I really wanted to I could still complain about the empty seats.

You're certainly entitled to your opinion. I guess we can agree to disagree.

To me, complaining about empty seats if you're not in one of them is akin to railing on drunk drivers while going down the road with a beer in your hand.

Sunday, Mom (Grandma) is having a Christmas breakfast for everyone. Luckily, she's a big Chiefs fan too (whole family is), and the game will be on. It'll be part of the holiday.

The cool thing is, mom and dad get along great, and attend each other's Christmases.

So yeah... I couldn't possibly go to the game.

If I lived in KC, I wouldn't worry about it. I'd go regardless.

But if I'm making the trip, potentially back-to-back weekends, the games better mean something.

What sucks is that I'm concerned prices will rise a bit if we win Sunday.

The tickets I linked to went for shade less than face value.

Bullshit it isn't. Most people from Kansas are Chiefs fans. I don't give a shit if the stadium is technically on the Missouri side. Its probably why the chiefs have such a loyal fan base. Both Kansas and Missouri think of them as their state team.

Yeah, but nobody cares what Kansas people think.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if the Chargers and Fade both lose tomorrow and we win, I think we win the AFC West, no?

But, it is the Raiders, so much mayhem would ensue either way, undoubtedly.

Raiders don't really matter, if we win and the Chargers lose, week 17 is meaningless as far as the AFC West race is concerned.
