View Full Version : Chiefs What are the chances we make the playoffs?

A variation on my previous "win percentage" polls:

What do you think our chances are of making the playoffs? Just to reiterate, that can happen in one of three ways:

1. We win out.
2. We drop a game, but so do the Chargers.
3. We lose out, the Chargers lose out, and the Raiders lose to the Colts.

Go.

Chiefs win out, but one of the next two games will be closer than it should be.

I have a horrible feeling that the Chiefs are going to lose both. I hope that I'm wrong.

first vote baby. 60% chance.

chances go up drastically if we can get ahead early in both games.

My gut says the Raiders knock us out...I hope I am F***ing WRONG!

We have to win out. We've been in first place since week 1. Both our games are at home . We're 6-0 at home.

We fans don't deserve to give it away now.

I went with 60%. I WANT to believe, but just can't let myself get all emotionally invested in the team like I once was.

I say it's higher than 60, like 65%ish but not 70%.

Than it should be? Since when is a Chiefs/Raiders game not supposed to be as close as humanly possible?

Have we had more than one 3 win streak all year?...

Nope, but we're gonna end the season with a 7 gamer.

I am feeling pretty confident with these home games coming up. I voted 80%

Have we lost at home?

So we have won 3 games vs. losing teams in the past and we HAVE gone.....well, UN-DE-FUCKING-FEATED at home?

I'm checking my math.

Twice.

I see also that the margin of loss (vs division teams) vs the Titans is under 6 pts.

This is good.

The only problem is that they are side by side with us on pts allowed, passing yards allowed, rushing yards allowed.

There's no real defensive edge here.

I was kind of surprised to look back in the annals of KC seasons to find out that the Chiefs have only won out at home in the regular season in 93, 97, and 03. Only time they've won out in postseason was in 93...

That's where home field advantage comes into play.

If we make it into the playoffs it's absolutely great, if we don't we still have made more progress with the team than anyone expected.

We make the playoffs and I'll pop the cork on the champagne. If we don't I'll probably still pop that cork.

Fuck that noise.

The team has to close it out. But thanks for your incredible insight.

Yes wk 1-3 (SD, CLE, SF) and wk 11-13 (AZ, SEA, DEN)

So we've done it twice PLUS our asses are undefeated at home?

Trying to guess the unknown is almost like telling someone to piss into a electric outlet. Until the season plays out there is no way of guessing other than SWAG's. If anyone said we aren't going to make it does that make them a bad fan? If everyone says we definitely are going to make it are we all nothing more than homers?

This season has gone better than anyone would have suspected after the pre-season. With a record of at least 9-7 you would think the fans would be ecstatic over last year. With an 11-5 record they will be in the playoffs, another quantum leap above where we thought we would be.

Regardless of the final record we have cause to celebrate as fans and something to look forward to next year. (unless your are GoatCheese and then he says we will be 4-12 again next year because we are frauds)

I would feel better if Cincy had T.O. and a healthy Chad....But I bet SD loses to Denver and yes, Tim Tebow.

LMAO so he's saying that there's a better than 50% chance we lose to both Tennessee AND Oakland. Some people should lay off the crack, seriously.

I think we will win out and I think SD has a real chance to drop one. I know I've got my homer glasses on, but I put it at 90% simply because there is just no goddamn reason for us to miss the playoffs at this point.
