First job I have ever had where I have had to work Christmas eve and Christmas day. I also had to work Thanksgiving day this year. Crazy. Being low man on the totem pole sucks. At least I will be getting triple time tonight. I will make up for it next weekend since I will have 3 days off.:thumb:

I'm in the media, so I'm here. Thankfully, I'm now a manager and I get tomorrow off, but I've spent my fair share of Christmas days working.

And I'm salaried, so no extra pay.

Yea, it is for sure. Technically it's TRIPLE time since I will already be on overtime (time and a 1/2) and then holiday pay is also time and a 1/2. Not a bad thing. I guess Im just being a baby about having to work the holiday.

Nope - yesterday, today and the weekend off. Have to work Mon and Wed next week - but get to do those from home. Won't be back in the office until the 3rd.

This is my first Christmas off in years. I am working today for triple time. Had to work yesterday as well for the premium pay. The guys working. Tomorrow miss out on the premium wage because the company holiday was Thur. Fri. So I lucked out all the way around. Needless to say the weekend crews aren't too happy about it.

My actual scheduled days off fell on Christmas and Christmas Eve this year from the ol 911 center. However I took up a part time job at a radio station for some extra coin. So that's what I'm doing today.

I've been off for the past week, and I scheduled this week basically at the beginning of the year knowing that my schedule rotated to having days off on Christmas. I figured I'd be able to do all the family stuff that has usually come up w/ people in/out of town that I never had time for. This year?...Barely anybody came into town.

But oh well! The Mrs and I got to sit around the house for a week, watched some football, played some video games, watched movies, etc.

Life is good!

Easy. The OT and premium pay for holidays is nice, but sh!t gets old after awhile when a person is living at work and no leisure time off. I've worked most holidays the last several years as I liked the money. This year I've taken most of the major holidays off, and am liking the quality time. The money is nice but a person has to keep it balanced. Too much work and not enough time off is a good recipe for burnout. Once this happens the money becomes irrelevant.

I haven't really done an actual day of work since around December 1. I wouldn't like to have to work on Christmas, though.

Sitting here posting on the planet, reading a book...making some cash in the process. I think I'd rather be at home.

Why in the hell are people calling for support on their TV's at 7 AM Christmas morning?!!?!

I would think that people would think we are closed and leave me the F alone today.

I got Christmas off this year, but I get to work 16 hours on NYE (11a-3a) and then 16 hours on NYD (11a-3a). 32 hours in 2 days, yay.
