I am not a season ticket holder, but I want to pick up 4 or so playoff tickets if we make it in.

Can anyone refresh my memory on how this process works? I imagine that they have already received commitments from any ST holders who want tickets, but when would tickets be available for everyone else?

Do they sell to Jackson County first?

Oh noes, someone is talking about the playoffs!

Tickets would then go on sale first to Jackson County residents and then other fans, but not until the Chiefs have clinched the division title and the right to have a home playoff game.

Tickets for the general public will range from $45 to $126, not including seats on the club level.

I got season tickets for next season and they gave me the option to buy tix for "a potential playoff game". For $41 bucks a piece and a chance to see the Chiefs play in the playoffs, I couldn't pass up the opportunity.

Does anyone know what the max number of tickets a Jackson County resident can get?

I am wanting 4 and have a friend who lives in Jackson County going in the morning. It would suck if they would only sell him two or something though.

I can appreciate the sentiment here, but don't fool yourself into thinking that brokers have any need for people to give them the password. Aside from the handful of people trying to do it themselves, all of the major brokers own season tickets themselves.

323 was the best I could do in uppers for 4 tickets.

Bought the parking too for $22. Four of us going to a Chiefs' home playoff game, and after ticket cost, fees, immediate ticket delivery fees and parking it's going to cost us $120/person.

Just got tickets in section 118, row 4, Chiefs sideline at $320/pair. I already have season tickets in sec. 318, but wanted to check the Ticketmaster sale anyway. Couldn't believe I was able to get that good of seats. There are still some awesome lowers available at face value in between the 35's on both sides of the field for those who are looking.

Still not sure if I will use them or not, but wanted to keep my options open.

One question, though: Can you re-sell seats if you purchased them through TicketsFast? I'm just curious if I'd even have the option if I decided to use my uppers instead.

Check that... There was a coach film booth, and they would always turn and yell to "try and get on TV!"

Pretty good turn out at Arrowhead this morning. My random number put me in 34th place in line. They were letting people buy an unlimited amount of tickets. Got out there about 8:45, tickets went on sale at 10:00, I was on the road by 10:20. Line was long by the time I left.

I don't think there is a discount but you can get them before the rush at 5pm. I bought 8 together just a minute ago. The cheapest tickets are like 57.

Fuck it I will just post the link, it's so season ticket holders can bring their friends to the game and you are all my best and only friends in the world.

FWIW, I got an email at about 3 PM with the season ticket holder password because I had inquired about season tickets before this season. By that point, anything I would probably want was already gone.

I bought 8 tickets on Stubhub last night, though. I must have over cele-beer-ated after the Bengals win because I clicked the wrong link and bought 4 tickets way up in the corner so I bought 4 more around the 40 yard line.

I'm looking to unload the corner tickets, but to be honest, you can still get better seats on ebay or stubhub for about the same price.

Just got mine. Lower Level, Sec. 109, Row 22, Seats 7-10. Sucks I got stuck in the endzone but that's about all they had left for lower level anyways. Should still be a damn good time so really not that upset. Price was a bit expensive though ($504.05). However I told myself at the beginning of the hot start that the Chiefs had to begin the season that if the Chiefs made the playoffs I'd be flying home and going to the game regardless of price. So here I am now owning up to that. Can't fricken wait for the game!

Endzone seating at Arrowhead is the best there is. I've sat in almost every section in that stadium and the endzones 25+ rows up is heavenly. I would sit dead behind the uprights 25 rows up before I would sit on row 1 at the 50.

I got a few replies like "I need to find another to go with me". I've told a few who I don't know on the MB that I want over face for them.

I'm not expecting people here to pay me what I could get on Stubhub or ebay, but if I'm holding 2 lower levels that I could get well over face, I'd be a fool not to.

Or you could just be nice and sell them for face. I'm actually giving away a Club 50 seat ($150 face value that I've seen selling for $500+) for free to a member of the planet.

I was on the other side of that in 2003 when I won a playoff ticket from somebody on this board. Made my year.

I guess you greedy people can do what you want with your tix, but I personally would get more satisfaction out of allowing a die hard fan to attend a game they wouldn't normally be able to rather than jack up the price on everybody just to make a buck.

Lame.

Heh, yeah I bet. Believe me, I wish I could give away some more. I only had the pair, though. One for me and I gave the other away.

I had 4 tix to the titans game and I've got 4 more for the raiders, too, in the same place because the guy who normally sits next to me is out of town. I've given away all 6 of those extras as well to people I know are fans and don't normally get to go to a game.

In fact, I've taken somebody different to every game this year and I didn't ask for a dime from anybody. Believe me, I'm not rich, either.

Much more valuable to me to see smiles on Chiefs fan's faces. I guess that's just me, though.

What does putting a smile on your kid's face have to do with gouging people for Chiefs tickets?

If you really did just "buy them for a friend that backed out" then why wouldn't you just sell them for face value and get your money back? Aren't all Chiefs fans friends of yours during the game? Then you've lost nothing and you're right back to normal with your budget for Christmas.

Or were you planning on gouging the original "friend" you were buying them for in the first place?

You giving a ticket away is your right. Just like it is TBG's right to sell the ticket and see what the market bears.

I'll agree with you. I'm being pretty petty here, and kind of an ass.

It's just frustrating. For a long time through the 90's I was a kid who couldn't afford to go a game simply because there were always 2 or 3 middle-men involved jacking up the price making it too much for me to afford.

I know there are people in that same boat now. If only they could buy it from the stadium they could go and have a great time. Instead, since they can't afford to buy a ticket AND somebody else's kid's Christmas presents, they're forced to stay home.

If it was truly a situation where people who were attending the game had purchased all of the tickets and the demand actually outweighed the supply it wouldn't bother me so much. But when people who aren't even going buy tickets and shrink the supply simply to make a profit that drives me crazy.

It also doesn't sound like a situation where he's a season ticket holder that can't use his playoff tix. Sounds to me like he's a Jackson County tax payer taking advantage of his opportunity to buy tickets ahead of the general public in order to make a profit.

I'm really more upset at a close friend of mine who bought 12 tix today with the plans of selling 10 of them. I've known him for 15 years and believe me, I was a dick to him, too.

People who demand seats at the "50" are those who want their gameday experience to be exactly like it is on TV.

I prefer to watch a play develop from the vantage of a QB or MLB. It's not going to look like TV but if you're a student of the game you are going to go through the same progressions as a QB and see how guys come open and be screaming in your head for #7 to throw the ball to the open guy. It's amazing in the endzone. Way, way better than anywhere else. Why do you think all the rabid fans sit there?

Funny, I didn't see Ringleader parading around looking for props when he gave you seats 7 years ago.

Why do I have to explain myself to the message board Mother Theresa? I'd rather buy my son things he enjoys instead of putting a smile on the face of a stranger on a message board.

You have no idea what my financial situation is like and you shouldn't be judging people because you want to pat yourself on the back for giving people tickets.

Funny, I didn't see Ringleader parading around looking for props when he gave you seats 7 years ago.

And since you continue to want to throw this in my face, I've actually cut a lot of people here breaks on tickets when they didn't have the cash. I just chose to keep it between me and the other posters.

If I haven't said it already, **** off Dru, you self-righteous cockbag.

LOL. Look man, as I mentioned before, I gave a good friend of 15 years of mine shit for this, too. I dug at him even more.

Maybe I came off a little strong, so I'm sorry about that. I didn't mean for it to become a personal blast. A little tough for the intent to come across to a stranger on a message board as opposed to a long time friend, I guess. I'm really just giving you shit, one Chief's fan to another.

Happy to be talking about Playoff tix and a demand for tix in the first place!!

Maybe if someone would send me a picture of their smile it would be worth it. I did what I could to get the entire planet the same advantage I paid for by getting season tickets, and I would love to sell the extra tickets on cp. Shit, I bought 29 extra tickets for my personal friends today for face value to help them out. I won't feel like an asshole for selling my extra's for a profit.

If you give/sell them to people you actually know you can see it first hand. I think that'd be sweet to buy 29 tickets and disperse them to 28 friends at face value and have an absolute blast at the game!!

Unfortunately the seats aren't all together but we are all on the home side of the stadium and I am sure we will all tailgate together.

My thing is, you can help your friends out, help ppl on cp out (a little) and still be the guy that buys extra tickets and makes a profit off of them. It shouldn't be a terrible thing to sell tickets on ebay.

I'm all for making a profit. My Chiefs blood just runs a little thicker than other topics when it comes to business and profit.

I simply wish it didn't happen so I poke at people who do it. I don't think any less of them for it, though, and that wasn't my intended message with all of this.

I may well be wrong, but I somewhat remember discussing your possible purchase of those tickets well before the year started and wasnt part of the reason you got those is to sell a few to offset the overall cost?

I may well have you mixed up with the badguy from that thread...

Who the hell has 28 friends? I'm doing good to come up with 10 people that I have any real emotional attachment to.

Then again I hate people in general and don't typically fare in crowds/parties/gatherings.

I snagged ownership of my tix in April, yeah, but I definitely don't remember ever saying I'd sell tix to offset the price. I got these tickets so that I could be there myself because all of the signs were pointing in the right direction and I knew if I didn't jump on them while the price was low this exact thing would happen and I'd be SOL again.

Couldn't be happier at the way the season has gone and I've had a blast taking friends and family with me to the games. Selling the tix is the last thing on my mind.

Damn. Didn't make it to the sale today. Needing to come up with 4 tickets together, looking for uppers probably(due to price), prefer Chiefs side or end zone(visitor side not a deal killer though), something where it won't be necessary to climb too far after exiting the tunnel. I just thought I'd throw this out there in case anybody has tickets they need to get rid of that they could meet me locally in the KC area and trade me tickets for cash. Any CPers that read this if you have tickets I might be interested in drop me a PM before 9-10 AM today and let me know how I can contact you and maybe we can work a deal. Otherwise its off to the local ticket broker when I get up this morning. Not much notice but I'm not going to risk them possibly going higher next week. Fortunately for me it looks like all the local brokers still have a good supply and the prices aren't ignorant as of yet. Looks to me like reasonably decent seats can still be had through a broker for 120-150 a pop.

Considering they don't even know who they're playing yet, it would be a risky buy anyway.

And even if they KNEW they were playing here, that link isn't going to be the difference in Jets fan attendance. If they want to come, they'll come. Nothing's stopping them.

Just got back from the ticket broker. Got tickets. Damn I hate dealing with those brokers though. I've only had to deal with them like on three different times over the years and its always been a hassle. Alot of them are definately not the most helpful as far as a customer service aspect, which I don't think good service is asking too much when paying the prices they are asking for tickets. Seems like when you go to their retail location to pick up tickets they never have the seats that they advertise and naturally you will pay well in excess of face value for what you do get. The money isn't so much what irritated me this morning (I had planned on paying up to 2X face value anyway for whatever I bought after circumstances prevented me from making the sale), but what irritated me most was that I went to the broker's website this morning before the drive there and looked at their supposed available tickets. Then I called them to verify that they had the tickets that I had selected, and their phone rep indicated to me that they did. Then when I got there like an hour later, the person at the counter told me that those seats were no longer available. I wound up choosing seats in a different section than planned and higher up than I had originally planned because of supposed availability issues with the seats I had wanted. Got them and drove home. Then, just out of curiosity, I went to their website again just now and their website claimed that the seats I had originally wanted were still available. Irritating. I guess I can only kick myself in the ass for not somehow making that sale. I wound up in section 326 row 28. Damn I hate dealing with ticket brokers. At least I got tickets, though.

Lower level seats are all sold out, and as of a few hours ago, only a few scattered singles in the upper level were still available at Ticketmaster.

Which means we'll be seeing thousands of tickets pop up on StubHub, and soon, market value will be set.

I just checked out the lower level seats at StubHub and here are the depressing findings:

—There are 2,989 lower level seats listed.

—Cheapest tickets: Sec. 114, row 21; $310/pair.
*These seats are located in the lower corner, near the tunnel.

—Most expensive tickets: Sec. 118, row 1, $1500/pair
*These seats are at the 50 yard line.
*I should point out that there was also a pair of lower level corners, row 17, selling for $4,500.

—There are 609 seats available in the corners, the cheapest lower level seats available. Of those 609 seats, about half of them — 300 — are currently selling between $400 and $560/pair.
*In the lower level, there are 496 seats available between $310-$400/pair. All of them are corners or end zones.

After all was said and done, tickets were around $90 per. Which I didn't think was bad at all. I had planned on spending considerably more. No, wasn't Ace. I called Ace first but the seats I wanted through them would have been around $150 per seat. I went to Ticket Solutions as they supposedly had tickets in the same section and row that would have been $125 per seat. So I went to Ticket Solutions figuring I'd get the same seats and save around 100 on the 4 I bought for the same seats. Then when I got there they supposedly didn't have them. Guess I shouldn't bitch too loudly though. I wound up spending like $240 less than I planned on.

Ouch.

Someone got a hell of a deal.

The absolutely did. That's barely over face value.

My front row uppers are at $255 with 5 days to go.

Can't imagine they'll go much higher, which is fine by me. I've gotten what I wanted from them.

Ouch.

Oh well.

I have another pair of lowers on the home side 40 yard line on with an hour left.

Hopefully they can fetch me a few bucks, if not, just hopefully break even.

Indeed. After the fees from ebay and paypal, I should just about break even.

I think timing has a lot to do with it as well.

Search completed listings, and you'll see a pair in 320, Row 1 that went for $400.

**** Ace. That guys is the biggest douche I've ever met. Rude and arrogant and a complete prick on all levels.

I honestly can't say because I've never met the man personally, but person I spoke to from Ace didn't seem real knowledgable on what he was selling either as far as fees or anything else. Which was another determining factor for me. I honestly can't say what Ace is like to deal with but I didn't like the impression I got after speaking with them on the phone, which was another reason I chose another broker.

Agreed. I think that two things are playing out here. One, people are definately spending less this year on non-necessities, which drives prices down. And. I'm going to venture out there and speculate that the supply of tickets might be greater than in years past. People that otherwise might not have let go of their tickets selling them to pay bills, mortgage, etc. Too many people out of work.

I'd also bet that the "everyone and their dog bought extra tickets hoping to make extra money on them" factor is pretty strong as well. I'd bet that ebay prices will rise as supply starts drying up.

Could be. It'd be my damn luck though that IF I did this the things wouldn't sell or would sell for less, meaning I'd lose my ass on 'em. Just my luck, though. Thats one of the things thats kept me from saying screw it and ponying up for season tickets. Having to get rid of the extra tickets can be a crapshoot sometimes.

Our tickets were going to be $200 a piece x3.... and we were going to have to purchase 2 games... +$55 parking.

$1300 for the playoffs? Sorry, I'll be watching from home.

If they don't end up having the second game, the money goes towards next year's tickets. $55 parking? Are they upping it for the playoffs?

Sounds like he may have Gold Parking.

I had the option to buy parking for $22 when I bought my seats, so I'm thinking parking will be unchanged.

Speaking of timing, 2 different pairs in section 120, rows 19 and 20 just went for $448 per pair.

Almost identical seats to TBG's, but went for $50 a pair more.

I have one more set on the home side 40 yard line 22 rows up. I'm going to wait until Monday morning to put them on.

I think next week there's going to be a bigger demand.

I did my extras for a 7 day auction ending Tuesday. Figure if it's closer to the time people will know their plans are more concrete and be willing to open their wallets more.

lower level is over-rated anyway. The first handfull of rows in the upper deck provides the best view of the game (other than club) IMO
This, I had season ticket in lower level end zone, yea it was great for atmosphere and all, but i couldnt see shit. So we moved up to section 304 Row 5, which are around 20 yardline or so, and i freaking love em.

I'm thinking about listing a few tickets on StubHub.

Does anyone on here have any experience selling through them? What kind of fees do they charge? Is there a listing fee and then a final value fee, or do you only pay if they sell on there?

It's hard to sell on SH, IMO.

They charge 15% of the sale price, but nothing to list. You're not charged if your tickets don't sell.

So you have to mark your tickets up significantly to make a decent profit.

You can price your tickets more competitively on Craiglist, or let the market dictate on Ebay.

Absolutely. SH is a bitch to sell on. That business model is gold though. They basically are getting 75-100 dollars on each transaction for decently priced tickets.

This is what I've been doing with my Jackson County tix, these clowns on Craigslist are over pricing themselves like its the day before the game or something. If you're looking for a marginal profit, Craigslist has worked for me fairly quick and painless.

A couple of assholes were listing it for sale on E-bay as well. I think it was horseshit regardless of who you were giving it to, but when I realized that people were selling it on E-bay I PMd it to a few on here that wanted it.
