Wonder if he mooned the owner when it happened.
It's odd to me that they'd do it with a game left in the season. The owner must've been really ticked off.

Overdue.
And speaking of, what was that bullshit with him getting into it with Troy Smith, then punching the shuffle button with his quarterbacks?

Okay, Jim Tomsula(their D-Line coach), is the interim HC. I feel disappointed now. The owner could have had more class instead of firing him when the team went back to their practicing facility in SF.

That was the last straw IMO.
The guy is a buffon as a HC.

John McClain of the Houston Chronicle predicts that the Texans' entire coaching staff will be fired at season's end.
McClain believes that the Texans' collapse to a Tim Tebow-led team after a 17-0 first-half lead will prove the straw that breaks Gary Kubiak's back. Kubiak is 36-43 without a playoff appearance in five seasons with Houston. He's obviously turned around the offense since the days of David Carr and Wali Lundy, but the Texans' penchant for late-game implosions and Kubiak's allegiance to defensive coordinator Frank Bush may seal his fate.

LOL I text my 49ers friend "Singletary canned" and he replies "idc fuck football".
Must be depressing to have your division title hopes crushed in week 16 after your amazing 5-9 start.

I think Houston is the most attractive likely opening for a new head coach.
Lots of talent on that team and a good hands-off owner.

Ehh, this guys a pretty damn big fan. A good one too. He's not from SF though, and I don't even think he knows any other 49ers fans.
I don't feel bad for any team that is 5-11 or 6-10 for missing the playoffs though.

Can't say this is a surprise. The 49ers owner, I think it was the owner, said after their first win that they will still make the playoffs. Apparently expectations were high..

No dude, he said that when they were still 0-5 IIRC. They didn't even have a win. He's a fucking moron for saying that.

And to think that many of the Denver fans and Denver media here are still in love with Kubiak and don't care if he gets fired because they clammering to take him back here in Denver as a HC.
But if you are Bowlen/Elway how do you hire a loser "peter principled" at O-coord IMO??? I hope the hell it happens!!!

How dumb is it for a HC to call a passing play with 9 seconds left and the WR doesn't get out of bounds until the clock hits 0?

He thought there was one 1 second left, but the clock hit 0 and apparently he thought there was time still on the clock. I also think part of the chaos was due to the 49ers having their GM leave them.

I'm not saying you're right or wrong, but he had a legitimate reason to believe it, didn't he? What was the record for the Rams/Seahawks at the time? The fact that they were still alive obviously shows how wide open that division is. 49ers owner is mad his team couldn't win the division when at best, the winner of this division will have either 8 or 7 wins.
Again, I agree it seems strange to make call that with an 0-5 record. I remember in 2008 when the Broncos were only ahead by a couple games, some pondered the idea if the Chiefs could somehow come away by winning the division. As most remember, the Chargers won it with an 8-8 record and the Chiefs lost a lot of close games that year.

I thought the same thing as well but a very well respected "sportswriter" here in Denver said it is not as "chummy" as you would think:shrug: which makes me think that he is not a lock.
I say they go after the next Pioli up and comer who hires Brian Shottenhiemer and then Brian uses Marty as an advisor to rebuild the "D" if the Broncos are serious about "successfully rebuilding their organization.
Say what you will about Marty but he always had top 10 if not type 5 defenses and knows football talent. I don't see Marty being their next GM because that is just to conflictual with his son being HC but he would be a valuable advisor IMO.
