View Full Version : Chiefs We haven't been in a down-to-the-wire game against a decent team for ages.

This scares me.

Let's take a look at our last five wins.

Chiefs 31, Cardinals 13.

This game was over in the third quarter.

Chiefs 42, Seahawks 24.

We went up 35-17 at the start of the fourth quarter and pretty much coasted.

Chiefs 10, Broncos 6.

This game was nerve wracking and we came through. Hali, mostly, and some timely offense. Good to see.

Chiefs 27, Rams 13.

Even though we were ahead by only 7 late in the game, I never felt like we were in danger of losing this. It felt like it was over when we went up 20-6 with about 6 minutes left, because our defense had completely dominated to that point.

Chiefs 34, Titans 14.

Over at halftime.

So my concern is this - has one neck-and-neck affair against one of the worst teams in the NFL prepared us for the playoffs? I look at the schedule and I see the Jets have played three close games in a row, and two of them against top seeds in the AFC and NFC (Pitt/Chi), both of those on the road.

Is our schedule a double-edged sword that has left us unprepared for a real fight in the playoffs?

Or are we just that damn good and we're gonna blow out the Jets?

Me personally, I don't feel like we're prepared. Which is why San Diego was so disappointing. It would have been great if Cassel could have played and we could have fought a real team tooth and nail to the end. The last time we had a game like that was in October against the Colts and Texans, which is a lonnnnnng time ago.

What do you think?

Sounds to me like we pull away early and win convincingly. I can live with that.

I don't think this team is "ready" for the playoffs. But, fuck all that noise, we've got the Raiders coming up. Playoffs can wait. And I hope we blow the fucking door off those criminals.

Light 'em up! I wanna win by 56.

Me too, I hate these fuggers who tell me after a 27-24 Chief win, Good game. F- That! 42-0 NOW that's a good game!

Just give me a win, period. This team isn't going to "Broadway it up" against playoff teams. We is ugly, and we will win ugly if we win at all. That's just how it is right now.

That said:

KC 42
OAK 3

Heh.

I'm pretty sure I said something to this effect before being accused of wanting KC to "suck more."

Yep. By the fourth quarter I want to see Tyler Palko handing off to Jackie Battle while Matt and Jamaal have pizza on the sidelines.

Considering that none of us expected them to even make the playoffs this year I'm not really concerned about it. They are a team on the rise, that has gone farther than expected. Win or lose in the playoffs I'm happy with their progress. GoChiefs would be too if he wasn't such a whiny little bitch.

So we blow out the opponent in all the remaining games. I never was for nailbiters anyway.

So, we'll see.

The Raiders game is the last one i remember?....Cassel actually brought the team back and scored a late TD, but the defense and special teams choked that game away.

I'm not taking his post as meaning the Chiefs are frauds, just unproven against legit playoff teams. I pretty much feel the same way, I hope we win convincingly but I think it will really be a nailbiter.

The Jets are a very good team.

If we beat them them it will be undeniable proof of our awesomeness.

And they did. Right? Nothing fraudulent about that huh? Since when were they expected to win the super bowl? Or even a playoff game?
