Jets are just as physical as the Ravens.

Jets have an all-world oline, great corners, and good linebackers.

Ravens have Ray Rice, Ed Reed, an average o-line and a QB who might not be too much better than Mark Sanchez.

The Ravens aren't the Patriots.

I live in Baltimore too, and watch every game.

That being said, the Ravens FIND ways to win. Always, like today, like last week. We (KC) aren't there yet. They have the guys that make the key play when they need it...Suggs, Lewis, Reed. We don't. Flacco is overrated, but he still has won in the playoffs.

Yes, they have trouble scoring, and teams CAN run on them, but Suggs will destroy our O-line and Cassel will need to win us this game. Let's hope he can

01-02-2011, 03:42 PM
I just don't see how the Ravens are that much better than the Jets. They are both very good teams. Flacco has been horrible in the playoffs, worse than Sanchez, although we'll probably make him look like Montana. He hasn't had a single good playoff performance and has a horrific INT ratio. They both are built to be physical and play a Rex Ryan defense. It's not like we're talking about the difference between the Jets and New England here.

This could be good news...

Reed gets hurt every game, he'll be fine.

Oher could be a help, but not a HUGE loss. He is definitely overrated.

If Cam Cameron calls a game like he did today against Cincy, we should be in good shape.

tk13
01-02-2011, 03:44 PM
Flacco is a lot better than Sanchez.

Flacco has played 5 postseason games.

In those games, he has completed 47% of his passes with 1 TD and 6 INT. He's completed more than 50% of his passes in a playoff game once, and they lost by 17. Although I think he's ready to have a better playoff year this season... he's still got quite a bit to prove offensively.

tk13
01-02-2011, 03:45 PM
http://i541.photobucket.com/albums/gg361/troyacupp/Flacco.jpg

That's before their loss to Indy in the playoffs last year. He did complete over 50% of his passes in that game, but threw 2 picks.

hmmm, you learn something new every day. I understand the tip-toe catch and barely catching the ground as you brush out of bounds, but that always involved some sort of semi-solid unbroken contact with the ground as you go out.

Apparently that isn't necessary. If you are getting cartwheeled by a defender all you have to do is disturb the earth with your feet to be counted as "feet down". Under that interpretation, yeah I guess Moss had two feet.

Be careful what you wish for. The Jets are a lot more similar to the Raiders than the Ravens are. The Ravens are a great team but have become a little overrated of late. Their pass rush is spotty and they don't have a CB in the same galaxy as Revis (who will completely own Bowe).

Not saying I necessarily think the Ravens are an easier task, but facing an elite CB should scare the shit out of the Chiefs. The last couple times they have, the offense couldn't do shit, because Cassel is completely worthless without Bowe to forcefeed.

There is no fucking way I want our running game matched up against Haloti Ngata, Kelly Gregg and Ray Lewis. That is death.

Broncos (game 1) - garbage time

Broncos (game 2) - offense stunk, defense bailed them out (won't do that against the Jets)

Rams - who the **** do the Rams have even remotely resembling an elite CB?

According to longtime San Francisco reporter Nancy Gay, the Raiders are "intrigued" with ex-Broncos head coach Josh McDaniels as a replacement for Tom Cable.

Gay also passes along "word from Alameda" that Al Davis won't pick up Cable's contract option for 2011, a scenario already reported as "unlikely" by Adam Schefter of ESPN. According to Gay, current Raiders OC Hue Jackson also intrigues Davis as a head coaching candidate. Cable must be informed by January 18 whether his option will be exercised. Right now, it's not looking good.

Nothing different. Jags were a game back and they have the same division record (no head to head sweep). Jags need a win and a colts loss. That puts them tied with the Jags edging out the Colts on the division tiebreaker. Even if the Jags won and the colts tied that would not be enough, they'd have the division tiebreaker but lose out on W/L record.

Go Colts!

The Jets can score 40 on KC. The Ravens wouldn't score 16.

We might not score 7 points on the Ravens.

Well, at least Bowe and Cassel have potential for big games. There are advantages to playing Baltimore over the Jets.

Their front 7 is scary though.

I wouldn't be surprised... that's probably going to be considered the "biggest" game of the weekend, with the Packers/Eagles close behind. I would guess that'd put us Sunday at 1 PM ET. Eagles game at 4. Rams/Seahawks host the very first game on Saturday.

And even if we beat the Ravens (or they all have stomach flu and have to forfeit) we get to trudge on over to Foxborough to fight for our right to be in the AFC Championship game in Pittsburgh or Indy. Our only chance at hosting that game lies with the Jets winning out on their path. That 2nd fumble cost us a lot.

Actually, looking at the stats, Baltimore is hardly a dominant team. They average 5.1 yards per play on offense, and give up 5.1 yards per play on defense. Statistically, Jets are a better team.

I think we actually match up better against the Patriots than the Steelers, so I'm OK with that.

With two sackmasters like Buster and TheGuardian coming off the edges... well let's just say there would be chalk outlines where the QB was killed.

I don't think there's much of a difference. Both teams are inferior to the rest of the field. I think the Ravens could score better on the Colts, but the Ravens match up better defensively against KC.

dont know the Jets and Ravens are both good against the Run but the Ravens Pass Def is way worse than the Jets. They really have nobody who can shutdown Bowe.
I like the Ravens match-up.
Really we have to play an outstanding game anyway but we can score on the Ravens.
