could we possibly be in a worse position to land a quality OC?
Am I the only one for whom this is the biggest worry?

How the Chiefs play next week will have zero bearing on who the next OC is. And it's pretty ridiculous to think otherwise.

We need more talent.
Haley and Pioli will find the OC.

More likely that $$$$$$ will play a part.

Were we not coming off a 4-12 season when we landed Weis?

I'm thinking that the talent on O would entice OC's to come play with the Chiefs.

My biggest worry? Next week's playoff game.
Why would this be an issue?

If we are embarrassed next week I blame Clayton and all the bad mojo he talks.

Haley will take the reins.

Why would this be an issue?
Haley dumping Gailey, then going 4-12, then hiring Weiss and improving dramatically, then Weiss leaving [with rumor, albeit only rumors, of dissatisfaction with Haley's meddling], then the first two games after Weiss deciding to leave reverting back to suckitude on O.
I mean what's the draw to be Haley's foot shuffling porter?

The pieces will be the same regardless of the outcome. There's 16 games worth of tape for a potential OC to see what he will be working with.
The position will be pretty appealing, I think. Charles, Bowe, etc. But that's assuming they go outside the organization, which I don't think they will.

I was thinking that it wouldn't matter because getting elevated to OC isn't a "pick your spot" type of move... but, you've converted me a bit with this post.
Still, I don't think next week's game will matter that much. More to the point is how much is that kind of talk - the foot-shuffling-porter talk - going around already.
KC could end up a go-to destination for failed HCs to do one year and get their bona fides back. Anyone come to mind?
I haven't been a fan of Weiss anyway so I don't see losing him as a huge loss....just me though.

It's a logical argument. It's my sincere hope that Pioli/Haley can convince whoever it may be that it's a good/great opportunity.

You are right. If Haley is still here, then they'll hire a young OC with little to no experience. Early money is on an in-house promotion for Nick Sirianni.

Ouch. As much as I liked Solari, OL coaches don't have a great history of becoming successful OCs. IMHO, Haley isn't going to last long if he continues to burn through OCs at his present rate.

That's because we are still relevant after this week unlike your team who no one gives a shit about.
