Good schedule. If we're really ascending and have a good 2011 offseason we'll be fine.

With a good offseason, I see no reason why we can't go 10-6 again. The Bears are notorious for having a bad year after a good year, and the schedule is never as weak or tough as you think it will be before the season starts.

Realistically this is what's expected, and so should a regression, if we're 8-8 or better that's a huge accomplishment. We go from 4th place schedule and NFC west to 1st place and NFC north.

The run we need to seriously be looking at is where we'll be the year after next and what pieces we need to have in place by then.

Neat, @NE. That was going to be really tough either way so at least it's local.

No, that's fucking bullshit.

If Pioli does his fucking job we should be in the playoffs again.

If he doesn't, we won't. That simple.

Of course, if he hadn't done such a shitty job last year we would be a lot further along than we are now.

The ONLY excuse for missing the playoffs next year is severe injury.

10-6 if the ball bounces our way.

2-14.

That's after the Ravens beat us 72-0 next week. Cassel throws 2 TD and 26 INT next year. Charles averages 2.2 yards/carry. Hali finishes with -0.5 sacks.

From a talent standpoint we are still behind. OL and DL/LB need major work, so does the receiving corps.

Weak scheduled masked our holes.

The team we have this year goes 8-8/7-9 with this schedule. I expect significant steps forward we should be 10-6 again.

This year doesn't count because of the weak schedule they were really 8-8. Next year will tougher so you can't go by that they will be 10-6. The year after that they will just be reaching their peak so by the next you will really know where they are. By 2016 we will have a good indication just how good this team will or will not be.

Really, though, when all the other teams in your division have WAY better records, this is what happens. (See: Carolina.)

Thats because they get to play the 2 weakest teams out of division, but have to play 3 teams from the AFC West with at least a .500 record. The Raiders play the 2nd weakest 2 teams out of division, but they get to play the Broncos twice.

If they were to do that, I think that they should make it where you play a home and away game against the teams you are already playing out of the division.

Like you guys would play @PIT, vs PIT, @ IND, vs IND.

I don't really know the best way to go about this though.

So basically we're playing 6 playoff teams next season? Nice.

Those conference home games look VERY winnable.
As do the NFC North games at home.
I can see us winning 6 at home next year.

Which means we'd need to come by four on the road.
Against a pretty tough road schedule.

Right now...that looks like a 9 win season.
