I'm calling it now: We are winning @Indy next year. Don't know if it will mean much or not, but it's happening.

The Bills at home 3 years in a row?

If they had the Patriots, Steelers, Bears, or Jets at home instead of the Bills and/or Dolphins, I'd be on the phone for season tickets tomorrow morning.

Dolphins were tough on the road this year, and select other years also. That division could be tough. I think there's a chance we could win 7+ at home again, team is gonna have to have a good offseason though.

No? But if we did we'd go 24-8 instead of 12-4.

9-7 next year.

And that will be good. Maybe good enough to make the playoffs.

Remember, the entire AFC W will have to face this schedule (basically). So expect to see the AFC W look pretty weak next year.

All praise to the dog. He needs to make a tailgate this year or next!!

As for the schedule, we'll be better next year, so I'm not thinking we'll be undefeated, but I think we'll hold out own!

Curious what the Chargers schedule looks like ?

It's exactly the same as ours, except they get BAL, @JAX instead of PIT, @IND. We share home/road opponents with them, so it's exactly the same outside of those two.

Brutal.

If we are truly an ascending team, there is nothing that horribly brutal about it, just simply life in the NFL - I see 10-6 or 11-5

If we are the frauds that everybody seems to think we are, then ya, absolutely nasty. Then I see 7-9 or 8-8

I tend to lean towards us being an ascending team.

Indy is on the decline (although don't rule out Polian giving Peyton enough talent to hide it for one or two more years). We always seem to play good NFC teams tight when we are at home.

The only true guaranteed loss I see (if we are ascending) would be @ New England.

Everything else is a coin flip.

Now again, if we are a fraud, all bets are off. I could see losses to Indy, NE, Detroit, Green Bay, Pitt, San Diego (twice), Raiders (at least once), Chicago, and maybe even Miami given how much better they play on the road.

We need some of them draft folk to come in here and throw down the 3-13 talk. Some solid reverse mojo would be appreciated headed into that schedule.

How do we always end up playing at Indy? And at NE has gotta be something that was on the NFL wish list.

There are some problems with the schedule.

Atlanta's is wrong, has them playing 2 NFC East teams.

And I am assuming ours and Chicago's are wrong too. Chicago has 3 home games against division winners and only 1 road game. Ours has us playing 3 road games against division winners, and only 1 home game. I would assume we will play Chicago at KC, which probably means the whole NFC North/AFC West schedule needs to flip-flop.

There still talking 18 week season next year. So who do we play for the preseason to have any idea of who those other two teams would be?

This schedule is more reason for the Chiefs to be aggressive this offseason in continuing to upgrade the roster. Don't fall into the Dictator Carl approach of doing nothing following playoff seasons.

First, the dog is cute.

Second, the NFL schedule is very simple -- it's based on a set rotation. Each year every team in the NFL:

1. plays each of the other teams in its division twice, once at home and once on the road. (that's six games)

2. plays one divison in the opposite conference (AFC/NFC). (that's four more for 10 games)

3. plays one other division in its own conference (that's four more for 14 games)

4. plays the two teams in the remaining two divisions in its own conference who finished in the same place (first, second, etc.) as it did.

The entire AFC West, therefore, is playing (1) the rest of the WEst twice, obviously, (2) the entire AFC East, (3) the entire NFC North, and (4) the teams in the AFC North and South who finished identically to them.

And the home/away rotation is pre-established. The reason you guys played the Bills the last two years is because you both finished last in your respective divisions. This year, the Bills would not be on your schedule, but by coincidence the Bills are in the AFC East, which is your regularly scheduled AFC divisional opponent this year.

It's a brutal schedule but doable. Need to strengthen the interior of both lines and add a wr opposite Bowe. Good news is my daughter in Chicago can score me some tickets with her company so I'll be making a trip to Soldier Field.

So how do they determine the home vs away games outside the division? The Bills come to Arrowhead because we won the last meeting?

I guess people learned nothing from teams like Dallas, Minnesota, San Fran, and San Diego this season and the 3 to 4 teams that underachieve every single year. It's simply amazing that every year it is the same crap with the schdules and predictions thinking every year is going to be the same as the year before.
