Well not yet, but as soon as the year is over.

That's kinda living dangerously if you're a colts fan. I wonder the chances of someone like Al Davis or Dan Snider throwing 150-200 million guaranteed at him.

Can't they franchise him?

Probably pretty low since if they don't work out a deal he will get the Franchise tag until they get a deal.

If there's a franchise tag. But as of now the NFL is telling teams not to use the tag in february because they're not sure if it will even be in the next CBA.

I don't think he'll end up going anywhere either I'm just throwing it out there for discussion. If the franchise tag is no longer an option this would cause a HUGE stir in the NFL, and as of now there isn't one.

I wish Itd happen depending on the team. Fuck that organization. And it'd be ok because he did get them 2 Super Bowls with one being a win.

Don't be so sure. Yeah, he plays up the "aw shucks" routine almost as good as the hopefully finally-retired Brett Favre. But Manning's not that stupid. He knows his career is in its twilight (he's no spring chicken). He's got a head coach who's rapidly showing himself to be no Tony Dungy (calling stupid timeouts). He's got a wide receiver (Reggie Wayne) too big for his britches who's complaining about not getting thrown at enough. He's got radio talk show hosts in Indianapolis calling (albeit stupidly) for his benching. Maybe the Colt faithful will start to grumble this offseason about underachieving, who knows. Maybe the way the season ended will leave just enough of a sour taste that Peyton says, "Hold on there, not so fast," when they propose a new contract, and decides to ask for a little more control or a few more million or a new head coach or for all the brown M&Ms to be removed from his postgame snack tray, I dunno. We always think a superstar will retire with his team; it almost never happens (remember those Montana and Rice guys in San Fran?).

well Peyton never takes any hits so he's not wearing down or breaking down...

he can probably play until he's 42 or older if he wanted to...

Just depends on what he wants to do...

and he's a God in Indianapolis...that franchise would never forgive that team if they lost Peyton...

I have a lot of Packers fans friends../

When Favre left...they didn't care about the Packers (at least at first -- must be nice to go from one franchise QB to another)...

They'd rather lose with Favre than win with someone else...at least the majority felt that way...I think they are over that now, but at first, that's how they felt.

Probably get a lot of the same reaction in Indy if Peyton ever left and went to another team.

Who needs Peyton Manning when you've got a young stud like Matt Cassel?

Isn't happening, but if Indy went full retard and allowed him to walk, I can't fathom how much money he could get. The franchise tag is basically going to **** him out of money.

Daniel Snyder is putting Manning's agent on speed dial as we speak just in case Indi goes full retard and lets him walk (not happening)

Could have sworn he retired a Bear and died a few years back.

So I thought about for a while, and I decided I'd be okay with the Chiefs signing this guy. They should take a shot at it.
