Just curious.

I'm not sure if Randy was going to keep playing or if he was headed for a work slowdown as his contract negotiations happened, but regardless, if Randy Moss hadn't been traded, would the Patriots have beat the Jets in the playoffs today?

I doubt it. What if Belichick didn't bench Welker?

I bet if they had Jerry Rice they would have won.

Vrabel could have fixed their D

Vrabel would have been their TE.

The revisionist history about how getting rid of him "opened up their offense" was fucking bullshit from the beginning. He took the top off the D, and the Jets showed today what you can do against shitty receivers who can't beat 1 on 1 coverage or stretch the field vertically.

Their rookie TEs, save for one seam route to Gronkowski, were a complete non-factor as well.

Not sure if they would have won, but his big play ability would have certainly helped today.

If the Randy Moss that gave 100% on the field, and torched Darrelle Revis with a seemingly effortless one handed td grab in week 2 showed up, this is probably a different game.

This. That guy elevates the play of everybody around him.

While he might have made some good plays, he still would have needed Brady to get him the ball. It's tough to do that while on your back.

If Moss is playing you never know from play to play if he is going to give you his best.

His game has always been "I'll try if I know the ball is coming my way"!

Moss = Obama = It's all about me

Moss?

the guy sitting on the Titans bench?

Nope.

If he was/could be productive the Pats would have kept him.

They cut bait at the right time...

No, he wouldn't have.

He was pouting there when they were winning and wasn't clearly happy.

He couldn't get on the field in 3 receiver sets for Tennessee. He's clearly washed up and I'd be amazed if he got anything over an incentive laden one-year deal this year.

No, he was a slow white bald guy which is why they traded him in the first place.

Yup! They won during the season without him. So they coulda' won this game without him. The team did not play well.

This
& Rex did a great job with his defensive schemes. Brady looked lost & confused most of the game. Jets are a well coached team. would not of mattered who the wide-outs were yesterday. The out come would have been the same.

The Jets D would have had to play this game completely differently if Moss was still around. They were able to take away the Pats short passing game so well precisely because they knew the Pats couldn't beat them deep.

Many experts had the AFC Patriots picked to win the Super Bowl each of the last six seasons.

Interestingly, the experts has this team looking more and more like the NFC Dallas Cowboys. At least that's what it seems like as the Patriots head for another one and done post season finish dating back to the 2005 season.

Just my opinion

Brady scores a TD instead of throwing his first pick in for EVER
& the dropped pass for a TD on the next drive.
Would have been a different game. Maybe not the out come.
Dallas Cowboys?? I mean, come on thats just a dig at pats fan .

Teams control their own destiny.

And, I don't buy into "genius." It's my opinion.

No disrepect.

On which play would that have been?
With Randy the Pats were a wild card team at best this year.

Didn't Pats get a third rounder for him?

JD10367
01-17-2011, 11:03 AM
No. Randy didn't make the coaching decision to go for the fake punt, Randy didn't throw an INT, Randy didn't let Brady get sacked repeatedly, Randy didn't let the Jets drive for a touchdown after the Pats made it 14-11, Randy didn't drop balls, Randy didn't commit penalties. This Patriots team was good enough to win 14 games, most of them without Moss, against hard competition. They were good enough to win yesterday. They simply shit their pants, and the Jets played better. End of story.

That Pats lacked any deep game yesterday. You have to be perfect when you dink and dunk down the field. It didn't work when facing the leagues #3 D

Revis was hurt during this game. It's been well documented.

Still a nice catch though.

Revis showed last night how truly great he is.

Randy Moss would have capsized Revis Island.
