I can't help but think it is.

It is crazy to me how some drugs to help one thing (Crohn's) causes problems on a different level.

If I were younger I would want to go into developing safer alternatives for people with chronic illness.

I too am glad nosewad has gotten some good health news.

Phildo is right though, if you truly want to give your body a fighting chance at health or prolonging your enjoyable life, you need to stop putting things into it that work against that process.

That said, when a person starts threads calling someone cockballhairgarglingdoodyheadasspipemudveinsuckingfatgravybloodedtransvestitehobomotherincestingkidf ornicating poopyface....they lose a little bit of the get out of jail free card.

SNL made a skit called Debbie Downer, and Noswad is a freaking caricature of that. It would be different if it was just part of what she brought to this forum, but literally ever thread she starts is a "look at me" subject.

Learn to filter chrissakes. There is a difference between personal and public information. Normal people don't go around in life constantly extolling their misery at every breath in attempts to garner sympathy. Much like people in real life people don't tell others to "just die".

The saddest part is, she's probably giddy at the potential thread traffic my comment initiated.

If you guys really care about about her half as much as your "attaboys" suggest, maybe one of you should explain to her how ridiculous her act is on this site.

The difference is you're applying an expectation you have for male behaviors to a female. They do stuff completely different. It seems like they do half of it to intentionally annoy we men. That's just how females do things. Does it annoy me? Sure. You know what else is attention-whoring? Clicking on a thread by someone you obviously don't like, about a subject you obviously don't like, just to be a deplorable douchebag. Pot, meet kettle.

I know this site is "anything goes", which is why I like it. But, really, when it comes down to people wishing death upon other people--and doing it sincerely, clearly, and unjokingly--just put a fucking lifetime ban on the pieces of shit. There's no excuse for it, at all. And it seems to happen around here a lot.

If you don't like someone, then put them on Ignore and/or don't go into their threads. Pretty fucking simple. You don't have to be an inhumane cockgobbler about it.

I've dealt with it for 20 years off and on. I'm quit again right now but if I were using and diagnosed with something, I'm done at that very moment. Period. Anything else is just giving up. No excuses. No BS. Do you want to live or do you want to die? It's really that simple.

You cannot name a system of the body that smoking does not hurt because it causes poor circulation and thus deprives the body's systems of oxygen. That is all to say nothing of respiratory issues. Smokers are so much more likely to get sick and get well slower, particularly as they get older. It's hard to believe someone battling for their life wouldn't be willing to do the very first thing you need to do to improve your health. How much pain and money are being poured into this battle? How many others want these treatments and can't get the same standard of care and wouldn't dream of smoking? It's just so confusing. I lived in the world of addiction myself for a time and appreciate that it's not easy, but damn. Getting cancer would be a wake up call.

What are we really saying here. "I realize that quitting would increase my chances of survival, but I'll risk it hoping I can beat it anyway, and then die of emphysema later."

Come on nosewad, man up for your husband and kids.

Might I make a suggestion?

Noswad, there are many of us who care deeply for your situation and would like to read the updates (especially ones like this!).

It seems there are a few people here who would prefer to be kept out of the loop. It seems like their biggest pet-peeve is "new threads."

For the sake of keeping on topic when it comes to your recovery, and not having each of your threads turn in to a huge argument, maybe you should start an "Official Noswad's Road to Recovery Thread."

Of course that's only if you want to, but I feel like having all this info in one thread might keep things structured and focused on the subject at hand, which is the desired result when posting an update, correct?

Anywho, keep up the good fight. I look forward to hearing more positive news!

Maybe a better thread title would be "Official Noswad's Road to Recovery Thread For Those Who Actually Care" and then if anyone who doesn't like it opens the thread, they can STFD and STFU.

Fair enough; I just threw out a suggestion. I'm sure she can come up with one.

No one on this site can resist the siren call of a Noswad/Claywhit thread.

No one.

This is not about you, douche. It's not like anybody would believe you sincerely care anyway so go do some videos or cruise sluts on craigslist.

I would be in favor of this.

 I love the fact that I got to see your vibrant red stick grow another notch when I hit disapproved. You need to really grow up and leave noswad alone. Pretty low blow coming into her thread starting shit.

NOSWAD....I very happy for your good news. Keep working on getting healthy, darlin!!

I'll wear it as a badge of honor. I'm not a gigantic piece of crap. I live by a code of honor that ALSO applies to my pseudo-anonymous behavior online. Yuck it up.

I know. My doc says it every visit. I guess I use it as a crutch...wrong I know my rationale...misguided I am sure....was that it was a blood disease not a lung disease....

I have been thinking a lot about the E-Cig but when I spend time in the hospital I don't even think about smoking. They wanted to give me the patch and I told them I didn't need it. NEver even craved it until each time I get released

I don't know you other than this board but have wished you well in other threads. Glad to hear things are going in the right direction. But, the tobacco habit really needs to go. It is counterproductive to your fight to say the least. I know its a bitch to give up having fought it myself, especially the psychological part of the addiction. I really hope you decide to quit. FWIW, my personal opinion is that the lozenges work best. I started with the 4mg for about 6 wks then went to the 2mg for a month or so then tapered completely off over about a month. Been quit for a yr now. But the key is finding whatever works for you and stick to it. You can do it. Sorry if I just turned this thread into a bitch session but it would be nice to see your progress continue.

Stop smoking, pam. Every time you touch a cigarette, think of it as one less day to spend with your daughter, your husband, your dog, this world.
