Good times. I'm tired of resetting the clocks around this place.

I wish I had some firewood. I may have to chop up some furniture.

Thank God I didn't get blacked out. I would be super pissed.

Some of the street lights were completely turned off this morning. Instead of doing a 4 way stop, like you are supposed to, people were just blowing through the intersection. I almost died twice. :#

Good luck with that. Any ice?

Dumb question. Sorry. How will the weather be in DFW, on Sunday? Crappily cold?

I work from home so I haven't had to deal with the traffic here. But I know how it gets when it snows/ices.

The power has went off twice this morning. About 30 minutes each time.

Nah Sunday is supposed to be in the mid to upper 50s.

The news said that 2 power plants went down (for what reason I do not know), so the Texas Board of Energy or something said that the power companies had to reduce power consumption by %10 or something and blackouts are how they are doing that.

No sympathy then.

We are at -20 to -25 with wind chill.

LMAO

Last Saturday was 76 degrees! Today is 13 degrees. That's Texas for you....its just wildly up and down in the winter. Usually it's not too bad, but once a year we get a big ice storm that just coats everything in an inch of ice. Gay.

I'm just breaking balls. I would rather have it -11tybillion then have ice everywhere.

Well, the ice I can live with, it's the idiot drivers that can't handle it that pisses me off.

This.... I use to live in the Metroplex, for 8 years ..... Ice or even sleet on the roads is madness.

Good news: Cowboys stadium is exempt from the black outs. Glad we have our priorities straight down here.

10 days in 07. i had about 60-70 trees in my yard. Took the better part of 2 years to clean my place up. Just the way it goes.

From what I remember even rain in Dallas caused huge driving problems. When the ice storms hit, it was easy to see who the experienced drivers were ....

I used to commute from Denton to Parkland Hospital, downtown Dallas and it was bad way back then. Bad weather days made things so much busier for the ER, thankfully I was in IT.

I remember that. Seemed like the whole world was just a bunch of ice statues. I also remember the blue-green flashes everywhere almost like lightning from the wires breaking. I was still living with my parents then and, thankfully, they have fireplaces so I could sleep next to one.

Wow. We had quite a few trees. Not that many, but it took 12 truck loads-full sized bed-to haul all the limbs away. My wife missed one day of work because we had a big ass tree limb across our driveway. Her boss was a royal bitch, charged her for a vacation day and told her thats what she got for having trees.

That ice storm was a bitch. I was lucky only 3 days without power.

ERCOT.

Sure hope they don't start them over here... The warmest spot in Bob Dole's house this morning was 62 with the one source of heat (electric) in the place running full-blast since 8am yesterday. If they start blacking us out here, the damned house is going to still be 62 at sunset, which will probably mean 50 by 6am tomorrow. (Which will translate to about 40 in the cold parts of the house.)

It's a little different up there where houses actually have insulation...
