Yeah, I know. According to the published schedule, the Super Bowl "starts" at 5:30 CDT tomorrow. Roughly how long do they take to get through all of the BS before they actually kick the ball, though? Is it a full half hour? I can't remember for sure.

(Trying to time a return from a day trip at the exact needed moment.)

5:28

For the SB they're usually within a few minutes of the scheduled time.

I'd say betweeen 5:37 and 5:43.

Wasn't last year's SB about 30 minutes behind the scheduled "start" time?

That's kind of what I'm getting at. I can't remember if that's typical or if that was an abnormality. The question is, do I aim to get back at 4 or 4:30 (allowing a little time for delays).

IIRC, it's "normally" 7-9 minutes from the "official" kick-off.

I'd shoot for 4:36:31...if anything, you'd only miss opening KO. And Devin Hester ain't in this one. :toast:

I'm DVRing it.

If the Packers win, I'll watch the whole thing.

If the Steelers win, I'll fast-forward through the football and watch the commercials.

To me, SB XIII between the Steelers and Cowboys was the best SB ever.

Two great teams, with outstanding defenses (#3 and #2, respectively), with two great QBs just making play after play.

This SB feels like it can be the same kind of game.

This could be the kind of game that you watch again, regardless of who you're rooting for and who wins, because it's just going to be so entertaining.

Guess that means 6:30ish kickoff here. I'll be in a weeklong technician troubleshooting course in Springfield, MA starting 7am Monday. Usually that means driving up late Sunday afternoon but FUCK THAT. We'll be leaving early in the morning to get a good seat at the hotel bar.

For the record, I got home at 4:25 MST, and the kickoff wasn't until about 4:45.

My deepest condolences.

Six Flags New England isn't even open. (One of the best coasters in the country.)

You can still check out the Basketball Hall Of Fame, though...
