LMAO This is awesome.

Boiling always seemed inhumane, but I love how nonchalant she is about taking a knife to the creature...

I use lethal injection. Just enough to kill the lobster and leave me with a good post-meal buzz.

I never cooked lobster before does it actually shriek during the 1st few seconds when it's boiled?

That was hilarious.

I don't get why people are so squeamish about lobsters. They are basically just giant arthropods. You don't hear people talking about the humane way to kill a cockroach.

EDIT:

Upon looking this up on wikipedia, it directed me to an animated GIF of a bee taking a shit.

Bee defecating. Note the contraction of the anus which provides internal pressure.

I find it quite inhumane how she stuffs the lobster in a freezer for 20 minutes to numb it down. At least throw a snuggie over it.

Anyone considering lobster owes it to themselves to read David Foster Wallace's famous piece on the Maine Lobster Festival.

(just as anyone considering going on a cruise should read "A Supposedly Fun Thing I'll Never Do Again.")

I fuckin' saw a chef rip a tail off a live lobster.

Horrifying.

I figured that. But then I was thinking about food stamps, and they probably wouldn't stretch very far.... but theoretically you could blow all your stamps on Filet Mignon, and Lobster Tails then buy ramen noodles and mustard sandwiches to get through until the first of da month.

Just a little bit but if you keep yourself busy getting the butter melted you hardly notice.

Crustaceans are not human, hence, how does inhumane become part of the act of feeding?

When I went white water rafting in Maine this past summer they taught me to cook it with a can of Beer...was delicious.

Anyone else try it like that?

Of all the various means whereby one might end the life of a lobster, I think stomping on their head is probably the most lethal, quickest, least painful, and most enjoyable method.

Bare footed, like the great lobster stompers of yore, Mr. MotherLover. That is the preferred method.

Lobster is from salt water. If there are waterways from inland Maine that are saltwater, I am at loss.

Is lobster found in New Hampshire, or Vermont too? Do those states have the same saltwater rivers?

So because he went wwr while in Maine, he couldn't have gotten a lobster recipe from his companions?

I went fishing with some guys who shared an awesome way to cook a chicken. But with your logic, I'm lying because nobody fishes for chickens.

Lobsters don't have lungs, throats or vocal chords.

I believe the "shrieking" is actually steam escaping from them. They may not vocalize a shriek, but yes, they do make noise when you first plunge them into boiling water.

Whenever I cook lobster or crab, first thing I do is put them into a take of fresh water, alive.

They breathe in the fresh water and it filters out all the shit they have in their system. I usually end up changing the water at least once (you can tell, it starts to have a brown color to it.)

They dont like fresh water, and after that, I scrub them with a brush to get all make sure I get all the stuff on the outside off.

Pretty nasty what crabs can have in their systems.

AFter that, I put them in a pot with some coconut milk and away I go.
