Panthers applied the franchise tag to C Ryan Kalil.

Kalil wins out over Charles Johnson, who was coming off a career-high 11.5 sacks in a contract-year push. Along with DeAngelo Williams, the Panthers will also risk losing Johnson, making defensive end an even bigger priority in the draft. Pro Football Focus graded Kalil as the NFL's third-best center in 2009 and seventh-best in 2010. He forms the nucleus of Carolina's offensive line along with LT Jordan Gross and RT Jeff Otah. Kalil is slated to earn roughly $10 million under the tag.

DeAngelo Williams is a free agent. I hope he doesn't end up in Denver.

Guess they're giving up on him and ready to go with Stewart.

The choice was already made for them. as much as Williams gets hurt, it doesn't make sense to give him another decent contract.

I think fantasy football may be clouding your perception. In 2008 - 2009 he started 29 out of 32 games. In all honesty he probably could have finished the 2009 season but they sucked so bad there was no point.

Last year he suffered a season ender in week 6.

The guy is 27 and full of talent and his best year (2008) happened to be the only year that Jake Delhomme played worth a shit. Put him on a team with a decent QB and he's instantly dangerous. Which means if he goes to Denver we have no worries!

He'll end up in Washington. Portis is done and Snyder is more than happy to overpay.

In 2008-2009? why are you leaving out 2010?

2009- 13 starts
2010- 6 starts All 6 starts were less than 20 carries, with only 1 game over 85 yards.

Who knows what he can do in Denver. Perhaps he'll actually make it to the season before he tears his achilles.

I didn't leave out 2010. Re-read it and pay special attention to the term "Last year he suffered a season ender in week 6.". When you do, remember who he had as a QB for those 6 starts. Matt Moore and Jimmy Clausen...

This is one that many at CP got right; Kalil would have been a great pick.

You underestimate how much Fox's former players want to play for him.

ROFL I'm sure they'd run through a brick wall for him, especially after last season.

I've heard rumors from a half assed Bronco fan that players are willing to play for FREE just for the opportunity to play for Fox again.

Champ made up his mind on the Broncos after a 45-minute closed-door meeting with John Fox. He came out of that meeting SOLD.

Haha

Yeah, I'm sure being paid a button of up front cash and the largest deal for a corner in such outside of revis (for a 33 year old corner) didn't have anything to do with.

Now, wipe the drool from your mouth and run along...
