Wish Brent and Tamie would burry the hatchet :(
One of the greatest LA bands that didn`t make it as big as they should have, right along with LA Gunns, and Junkyard

At their best!!

Rock and Roll band and Landslide were definitely in for me. My third vote was between two worthy choices of Sweet Child O Mine or Should I Stay Or Should I Go. I went with The Clash.

So...Boston, Fleetwood Mac, and the Clash.

It looks like this heat could be a dogfight.

Ted Nugent, The Clash, and in a close race I'll take a second Boston song over a second Smashing Pumpkins song.

Sweet Child O' Mine has one of the most recognizable guitar riffs in rock history.

Nugent...well I don't need to defend this selection.

The Clash - hey, gotta class up the joint.

Landslide was my first out until I remembered that this is a rock poll not a hippy jam-fest off.

This heat has too many strong contenders.....could sprinkled a few from here in 4 or 5....

Landslide....a great song....if you wont to go pick flowers and make an aids quilt. BTW....Smashing Pumpkins equalled it, if not surpassed it with their version.

Cherub Rock not getting as much love as it should because people dont recognize the title......one of the true "Rock" songs so far in all of the heats.

(and for the record, I like Landslide.....just wouldnt consider it a "rock" song)

Fine, I'm going to work on it. Send me some preferences. And remember, your co-commish whether you agreed to it or not, I just assumed it. And with that title comes the responsibility of advertising. We need sponsors and spectators. The winner deserves more than just my casino cash and clay.

At first glance I thought Cherub rock was easily the best song on this list & that it would easily make the top 3 along with Sweet Child O' Mine.

Stranglehold has a cool riff, but I've never thought it was much of a song. Should I Stay or Should I Go is a pretty cheesy, poppy song from a pretty cool band. And then there's Boston. What's happening here? When did they become something other than cheesy classic rock?

Based on this post, I'm having trouble figuring out what your definition of "cheesy" is, unless maybe you're using it as a synonym for "catchy".

I think "iconic" is a better adjective for "Should I Stay or Should I Go" and Boston put out some great polished, melodic rock in their day.

Of course, all of this is in the ear of the beholder. :)

Fair enough. SISOSIG is catchy & it's a cool song, I just think the Clash had some cooler stuff. Maybe cheesy isn't a great word for that one.

Boston seems more like a guilty pleasure band to me. They have some catchy songs, but nothing you'd want your friends to catch you listening to. I think a lot of the bands from that era sound way too polished to me.
