Since this is a wince-worthy heat, we'll put it up along with the special thread.

Er, I mean, check out all the great songs!

Uhh. Is there even 1 Rush song in this list?

Los Pollos Hermanos

Worst heat yet.

Yeah. Chicago "Saturday in the Park" or whatever the fuck it's called? Really? Who nominated that? I'd like to stab them in the face.

Infectious Grooves?? I liked them and all, but they seem a bit out of place in these heats.

Unbelievable heat. This is like the AL East. This is like the 1927 New York Yankees lineup.

Worst heat yet.

Next one's going to be fun, though. It'll have a rich variety of styles.

This one's not as bad as it looked at first. Point of Know Return is a great song, and Don't Stop Me Now is a good and underrated Queen song. I Want You is a pretty good Dylan song, and A Day in the Life and Saturday in the Park are okay. I'm still listening to the other songs for the most part to see if I recognize them.

Yeah, point of no return is damn solid. And Day in the Life is good as well.

That third is pretty nasty, though.

"Saturday In The Park"? Really?! When did we switch from rock songs to elevator muzak songs?

Rain Man

I went with Point of Know Return, Don't Stop Me Now, and I Want You.

Point of Know Return darn well should beat the suckage option, and I would hope that Don't Stop Me Now would as well. I'm ambivalent about the rest.

Have you seen the Welcome to the Jungle video?

And Freddie Mercury can get away with it anyway.

Point of No Return
Suckage

Rain Man

It occurs to me through the use of advanced math that it's possible that one really good song could get taken out by suckage solely because it's in a weak heat even if it gets votes from the vast majority of voters. But whatever. We've got a rule and we're going with it, and right now none of these songs is even close.

But seriously, Point of Know Return might get knocked out? That's song's brilliant.

Dylan's a weird phenomenon. 15% of his songs are fantastic, and 85% are used to torture Taliban prisoners. He's like Don McLean in that sense. Don McLean put out American Pie and Vincent, and every other song of his would make a jukebox kill itself in shame.

A Day in the Life might just crawl out of the hole. I'm still holding out hope for Point of Know Return.

Point of Know Return is the only song I really like a lot here. I never heard Boom Boom Boom before today but it's alright. I voted Kansas, Queen, Infectious Grooves.

I noticed that, too. I always thought he was more of a folk singer.

Oddly, Don't Stop Me Now just came up on my itunes as I'm randomly listening. That's a pretty darn good song.

Rain Man
03-04-2011, 05:42 PM
What is with all the ****ing Dylan?

It was probably a bit of a joke to nominate so many, but I just took every song that was mentioned, because there were a few where I couldn't tell if it was a joke nomination or not (e.g., Welcome to the Jungle).

I'd quote the lyrics, but they'd burn people's eyes out with how brilliant they are. so, instead I offer this: THIS.

point of 'know' return? you lost your damned mind, man.

and if you're going to bitch about ANY song not moving on, it's 'don't stop me now' by queen.

I agree on Don't Stop Me Now. Great song.

I'm really rooting for Queen's Keep Yourself Alive in Heat 11. I think it's actually their best song.
