I like that dunk where he just throws down on some guy. Those are the best.

Meh! If he had a 50" vertical his head would be above the rim. He's reaching for every dunk. There are tons of 5'11" guys that can dunk like this guy.

You didn't watch well apparently. At one point in slow-mo his eyes are at the rim easily.

edit:

To make it easy, it is at the 1:37 mark.

Pretty good stuff, he can get up. Don't think he was better than the NBA dunk contest though. The Wizards player who dunked on two rims at once was one of the most impressive dunks I've ever seen. Just from the standpoint that there are probably very few people that could have even done it.

He's Illinois College's (Division 3) team's leading 3point shooter. Averaged about 15 ppg as a senior this year, and 7 RPG. Makes you wonder how this kid isn't better.

Tyrel Reed has the highest vertical leap on KU, but he's not a "fast" jumper so it's hard for him to showcase it in games.

Dude. No one has ever come close to a 50" vertical. Even David Thompson's 40+ inch vertical was tricked out and he had HUGE hops. You have to take note of camera angle.

I doubt this kid has a 50''..but it's probably pretty close. Kenny Gregory had like a 45. This dudes head can hit the rim and he's 5-10. Kid has got serious hops obviously.

I was at KU when Tyke Peacock played basketball. He was the world high jump champion then. He was 6'1" and while he could jump really high his head was not above the rim. This kid can't jump nearly as high.

Tyke was a semi-member of the KU track team and won the high jump (7'4" I think) in a meet... in his sweats. He jumped and left.

Tell me if I am missing something here....at 1:41 his head is 3 inches above the rim (approx. 10"3" or 123 inches) he is 5'11" or 71 inches. That makes his vertical 52 inches...

For his size and the fact that his head gets up there, I would say it probably is.. Hell one dunk his hand was above the box of the backboard.. He has some mad explosion..

I just think your analytical skills are jaded on this for some reason.. Take him jumping over the the other guy... He is as tall as him if not a bit taller and clears him by a few inches at 5'11??

I am sure this video will bring him more attention to show his skills.. Maybe you should challenge him to a vertical test on his youtube video comments??

If you were trying to help your point, the shot being from the other end of the court doesn't help but rather hurts as the perspective would be worse from a closer shot that is below 10'.

Impressive, but no telling how many takes it took him to do all those? Plus he didnt have the pressure of doing it in front of a full arena with millions watching at home.

Raise that goal to 11' "THEN" it would be quite a feat. But at 10' for tall guy, I wasn't impressed. Now if that 5'11 kid did this then it would have been quite a feat!:thumb:

Not necessarily, he may not have a 50 vertical...vertical leaping measures are all over the place. True verticals are standing not running starts and I doubt this kid is anywhere near 50, more likely upper 30's.

Still you are being WAY too negative about his abilities, this is not that common for his size.

his head gets within a couple of inches in a couple of them. if he's 5'11, he needs, what, 49 inches to get his head level?

Somewhere between 40 and 50.
